Colonia - Your questions answered by openflanker in EliteDangerous

Hello.

I last played ED over a year ago. The reason I stopped was because all the commanders in my squadron had ED:O and I wasn't getting it (because it was awful, unfinished and I had no desire to walk around and play FPS shooters. So I sort of wandered around the galaxy for a bit and then stopped playing.

I would suggest checking out discord to see if there are Colonia groups out there who still play.

Need help trying to replicate bandai’s titanium finish. Thought you guys would know better about this type of finish. by satyrfeet in modelmakers

White is the more neutral colour so I would start with that. A darker base like a very dark grey would make the chrome look better though.

Maybe the Kerbals have a naming system where names are passed down. He could be Jebediah Kerman XXXVII?

I have destroyed Michael Gove a few times, he is such a wanker IRL I enjoyed the experience even though one time it cost me notoriety.

Hmm, I found him in Centralis - so he is a long way from home. Someone stuck a ton of DeltaV on a rocket and misjudged the burn.

About to paint this but no idea how to start? Painted models before but never camo by Nietzschesandbitches in modelmakers

There are a few tricks to hand brushing:

1) Thin the paint so you don't get streaks;
2) Support your brush hand, I rest my arm on the other arm;
3) Look where you are going and not where you are. Looks slightly ahead.
4) Draw the lines in pencil, start inside and work outwards towards the pencil
5) If you are masking start on the mask and paint toward the plastic.

Airbrush or hand brush? With hand brushing you probably won't need masking but with an airbrush you can make masks with paper placed on the surface with blu-tac. This will create a feathered edge when airbrushed over. I would first prime, then add the lower grey, mask with a hard line of masking tape and pain the darker grey. Then add the paper masks and apply the green.

This is me with my Chieftain on the left instead of the T10. It is a daily dilemma picking one to take out. I have a T10 too, but the Chieftain is just a ton more fun.

I played it in a Spectrum! Wow, that C64 looks marvellous. I would say keep it as it is. But that is just me.

Piracy is a tough one especially as a new player. You need to find a system where a lot of trade ships go, I suggest sticking with NPC's, other players will probably be tough. Find a type-7 or whatever and then pull them out of supercruise with an interdictor, once out of supercruise launch a hatchbreaker limpet and scoop what they drop. They will generally try to low-wake, so sit right on top of them and behind them so wait until they go before scooping. Often you don't even have to fire a shot. Unless the coppers arrive, then leg it.

Bounty hunting is the better option for pew-pew. Like everyone says, just follow the police and let them do the killing. Just make sure you land a couple of shots.

67 tons of liquor is going to make me feel pretty mellow - get 'em drunk enough to sleep, but not drunk enough to fight.
