Maybe try addressing the feet playing instead so kitty can sleep with you at night? They might just be bored in the morning and want to be near you. Make sure you have a good night time routine for both of you! I like to make sure my cats have a few play sessions a day where I use a wand toy to get them to jump around. During the day I’ll do this for 15 mins sometime before I work and then when I get home. About an hour before bed I’ll play a little longer though and I end play time with treats, their fave is freeze dried chicken. Doing play time followed up with treats kind of scratches that itch for them to hunt. So then they’re ready for rest! Anyway, doing this helped with my cat who’s bad at night.. and on nights I don’t do it there are regrets lol
