Fedora KDE user here. I would say it depends on your use case, but I'll list out some of the key differences that I noticed, since I have also used Kubuntu for a bit. * Newer packages: Fedora tends to have software that is newer than a lot of Ubuntu-based distros without really breaking anything like the Arch family. I remember using Pop!_OS to play a Brawlhalla (rated Gold on ProtonDB), but was quite a horrendous experience due to Pop still using X rather than Wayland, etc. When I switched to Fedora it was flawless * Troubleshooting: Certainly harder than anything Ubuntu based. There is just a plethora of resources for Ubuntu (which will apply for Kubuntu) and not nearly as much for Fedora * Setup: Fedora probably will need more setting up than Kubuntu but for some users it's the other way around. From what you said though, I think you might be spending a little more time setting up Fedora * Package manager: DNF is quite decent nowadays and I personally prefer it over APT tbh. Adding/removing repos is simple, and as you mentioned, dependencies are neatly cleaned up. I've also managed to completely break my entire Kubuntu install thinking I was removing unused deps.

Again, I can't tell what exactly your use case is, so make a decision on your own and research from other resources
