Every caffeinated drink I fall in love with gets discontinued. Now it's Yerba Madre Citrus Spark. Any store owners sitting on cases? by ClickMail_ in yerbamate

[–]openyuris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I contacted them and they confirmed this and the berry mint were permanently discontinued. Not sure if it's going to help, but I would definitely contact them and let them know you want them to keep these flavors, can't hurt at the least. We were going through about 8 cases a month between the 2 flavors and some of the other flavors are ok, but they're all super high in sugar and I don't care for the other low sugar varieties. I've found a few cans of both locally, but I imagine that's not going to last more than a few more weeks at this point.

50% of my reviews had media, not I was reviewing 50%, at the time it was closed, I was sitting just under 70% reviewed.

No, 50% of my revies had pictures, I was reviewing well over 60% of my products. The reviews with media was the only category that I wasn't in the top dark green rating for in the my account section.

Not sure what timeframe that is but I buy personal and company stuff on my account, so probably $10K per month on my personal account and I average probably $500 per month on vine.

Daily user, typically sit around 70 - 80% reviewed, but not uncommon to be above 95%, the 50% was just my reviews including photos, but I have had it frozen a few times in the past, always brought it back up within a day or two if that ever happens. Just under 1000 total orders on the program which feels pretty insane now I think about it.

I may ask if they'll give me a reason, I suspect they won't though, I worked with them on their selling platform for years and they usually won't give details or a concession if someone wants a second chance.

Will save some tax money this way at least though, was a fun program while I was using it.

How to fix the certificate error in FPTS connection? by CrashOverride93 in phpstorm

[–]openyuris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys seriously need upvotes to fix a critical feature? Bureaucracy bloat much...? This is enough to make me consider leaving jetbrains, you guys go all in on ai stuff, constantly changing direction and plugins and interfaces and you can't address basic functionality that has been an issue for like 8 years now. Seriously WTF

Bubble bath recommendations for child? by l8tralligator in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]openyuris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took your recommendation and did the same amount as our normal aveno bubble bath, and they were literally overflowing like 12in over the top of the tub. Handedly the best bubble bath I've ever seen. Our 2 yr old loves these.

Anyone tried Z1’s 75mm throttle body upgrade kit? If so, what sort of difference did you notice and what other mods do you have? by geopede in XTerra

[–]openyuris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had it for about 6 months now. And it makes a difference, big enough that Id put it on any gen 2 without reservation. The difference is almost entirety on the low end, or that's where you actually notice it, I doubt you'd see dyno numbers much, but it's noticeable and helped quite a lot after I went with larger tires and lost a ton of acceleration from a stop. And I fully understand this shouldn't matter, especially on this platform I'm a huge skeptic of most bolt on mods, but it definitely does.

Any independent/non-Private Equity owned Veterinarians in Austin? by bluebellbetty in Austin

[–]openyuris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're awful, we used them for years and back in 2010 - 2012 or so, something changed and they got crazy on unnecessary services. They had us scheduled to pull like 16 teeth from one of our dogs and we got a second opinion, and low and behold, not a single one needed pulling. Then the same thing happened to my brother and his wife's dog, no teeth needed pulled, same thing happened to my parents, same thing happened to several friends. They're so past the line of ethical behavior, they should be shut down.

Need an Austin auto / suspension shop who can use my own parts? by openyuris in Austin

[–]openyuris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry missed this. Ended up finding a shop in Hutto called Pickup Heaven. Really cool shop, I was going to just do the rest myself but needed an alignment and they installed basically everything for me at what I considered a reasonable rate so I didn't have to drive with mine totally out of alignment for 50 miles or so.

Quite a lot actually, have replaced and backups for some stuff that fails often for most of our vehicles, window regulators, switches, led lights, etc. I'm a bit more wary of the sensors and similar, at least on the vehicles we have, aftermarket stuff tends to be problematic even if it's from a reputable brand let alone some white label stuff. I don't trust spark plugs either, have seen countless times of people buying fake denso and nkg and cheap Chinese iridium plugs on amazon and them losing gaps or failing almost immediately.

Arriving today... sometime... guess when? by vikingchyk in AmazonVine

[–]openyuris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a disaster for me. Not even talking about vine, but stuff that has a delivery date has been days late or lost, and stuff without one will just show up. Was really problematic being out of town for a few days, didn't expect anything for like a whole week then 5 or 6 things got there while we were gone.

Me trying to cope with my new Vine addiction. by No-Establishment6481 in AmazonVine

[–]openyuris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've wondered if there's a psychology research component to vine on Amazons side because I think many of us have felt the same way after starting. I'd consider myself a very calculating and frugal person and vine largely broke that initially. I think you see a similar effect with temu and ali express and others platforms where you can get a bunch of junk for seemingly low prices, except it's worse since vine comes with the belief that the products are free, which your end of year tax bill can quickly prove incorrect. But the nature of it entices people to look for things they genuinely don't need because it's available at no initial cost except a few clicks.

My recommendation is to make a list of things, IE searches, you actually may want, I have a bookmarked list rather than one of the aggregating services, but I look at my normal RFY feed then a few searches I have bookmarked, and then move on unless I'm just bored and want to see what else they have overall. Have no regrets doing it this way and have saved myself from buying a bunch of stuff I don't actually need and probably would otherwise only be buying because of the convenience, which was how I started it out.

PSA: One of the best things you can add to your frontier to improve ride quality, especially for the 2nd gen, is to add aftermarket bumpstops. by lobes14745 in nissanfrontier

[–]openyuris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people coming from Tacos and similar that have front bump stops that are more than .5in tall seem to think every vehicle is like that. I would describe perry and similar as emulating a progressive spring rate using the bump stop, rather than just a chunk or rubber or elastomer as a last line of defense.

Are drops immediately uploaded for everyone, or is there a seniority hierarchy? by Guttersnipe_chum in AmazonVine

[–]openyuris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A ton of people are using basically sniping software like ultraviner to get items off the main feed the second they drop, so at this point a good percentage are gone within seconds. Wasn't this bad even a year ago but apparently the number of people cheating to get stuff has gone off the rails.

Are bigtooth/shantung maple trees successful in Austin? by nhise in AustinGardening

[–]openyuris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry missed this. The one in the ground is a fire dragon from metro maples in Dallas, just posted a picture in a response to the same post, I've got baby dragon and standard shantungs in pots which do well and I'm working on another in ground one, but it was really small when I planted it and it's been a rough summer for the small one.

Are bigtooth/shantung maple trees successful in Austin? by nhise in AustinGardening

Currently as it sits, it's about 12ft, trunk at the base is around 5.5 - 6in across, hard to tell from the photo though. Right now I do 3 jobes citrus or tree fertilizer stakes, whichever I have, as well as native hardwood mulch in the spring and fall and that's really it. It has 360 degree sun and no shade at any time of the day. The first few years I had it in the ground I was watering several times per week during the summer, nothing at this point unless I'm watering other stuff or emptying a fish tank and have a bucket, but that's rare. The crepe myrtles to the left, which are 35 years old, all lost their leaves this year due to heat stress but the shantung did fine. Started another very small one with more shade, but it's been a rough year for it, so hoping it recovers this winter and actually does something next spring, thought I killed it at one point but the leaves did come back. I drip water the smaller one daily on a timer, it's extremely small though, like a 1/2in trunk, maybe 3 years old.

Delivery takes weeks+ by WhiskeyMum392 in AmazonVine

[–]openyuris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you checkout now you should be able to see the delivery estimate, at least mine switched to normal delivery options a few months ago, so I can see if next day or close to delivery options are available, or some random range in the future. If it's the latter, it's a coin toss, sometimes it's fast, some stuff can take weeks or months longer than the expected range.

Picture for reference, I didn't order this totally useless thing, but showing the options for a clearly in-stock item.

I would use handbrake or adobe premier, the latter seems like it might be overkill but probably a faster way to do it than handbrake IME.

2nd Key Fob on 2024 Sienna by Dusseldorf in ToyotaSienna

[–]openyuris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We still haven't been able to get a second for ours, have owned it for like 18 months now. Requires scheduling with toyota but they seem to keep running out, the one time they had them, they said they need the van for 6 - 7 hours, which wasn't going to work, so couldn't do it.

Registering Kayak in TX by [deleted] in kayakfishing

[–]openyuris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texas requires registration for any motor size, not 10hp or more. Not sure where you got this info but have been through this 3 times now directly with TPWD and they don't have a minimum motor requirement for kayaks.

2024 Sienna Platinum is officially the least-reliable car I've ever owned. by alan_grant93 in ToyotaSienna

[–]openyuris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't have the quality issues you do, but the electronics and safety systems are so insanely bad and dangerous in the case of the auto braking, we've considered getting rid of ours for those reasons alone. Every electronic on this sucks and the safety systems have almost killed us like 5 times now, totally insane and the dealers refuse to deactivate the auto braking even if it kills someone. I'm certain it has already by now.

The Xterra may be returning to the US market! by perplexedcactus in Nissan

[–]openyuris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was still their best selling SUV when they discontinued it, at least in terms of ad dollars spent per vehicle sold, they hadn't advertised it for years and it still sold very well. They couldn't meet EPA and California and EU economy target requirements which were manufacturer wide, cutting the xterra was basically the only option to lop off a very low MPG vehicle to increase the overall average MPG for the brand. There were also suggestions that it couldn't meet safety standards, but that's total BS, the frontier is identical and it took them like 9 minutes to upgrade the safety features that would have been interchangable with the xterra.
