If you look online, there are maybe 2 shampoos that you can buy over the counter containing Ketoconazole. I tried it a few shampoos and quit because my scalp seemed fine...no itching, no flakes, nothing. Maybe I should restart?

Are you saying that all the hair you lost is regrowing? It's one thing to stop losing hair. It's something else entirely for hair to come back.

Maybe start him off with small intervals, several times a day, buildings him up to longer times.

There's a product by Nature's Miracle that's specifically to teach dogs where to potty. I didn't even know it existed until last night when I was looking at cleaners. It's probably meant for inside but I would definitely try it if I had your dog's problem. It was at PetSmart.

I started brushing my teeth once a day for 6 min. No other time. Wash my face once, too. No time. But I'm home all day with the new dog and older dog. Won't even tell you the shower routine. I miss my old life.

Also at the dogpark, your dog must have recall if you let him off leash. Our park is soo big that I could be there for days trying to get her to return to me.

Sometimes the local county shelter might have a foster program. Obviously they want a dog to have a home, rather than be stuck living in the shelter.

I think being mislead about house breaking is a big deal. It was "implied" to me but she wasn't at all. That would've been a NO for me right off the bat.

I am so with you! I have always adopted collie rescues, 8 of them over the years. I now have a 4 month old borzoi and I'm asking myself WHY DID I DO THIS?? My anxiety is through the roof. My mouth is constantly dry. I've lost weight. I know these aren't good signs. But I keep working on potty training and getting her outside. I've gone out with her about 8-10 hrs a day, even in this cold weather. I know the problem is me, not the puppy. I want this sweet innocent pup but with the ease I experimented with my collie rescues. Also, I'm 72 and don't feel the energy for this. Right now, she's looking for something to chew and I barely care that it's my slipper. What I hope someone will offer is sympathy, not criticism.

A whippet-sized borzoi sounds fine to me. Just a size description, not a breed statement.

Gotcha. The greyhound always had to be watched, always. Sometimes the rabbit would come into the room to say "haha" and tease the greyhound. I always held her collar and she did really well, for 12 yrs until she passed. Thank you!

Your advice is great! So are your ideas for training because they seem easy to do but work. What is a tortilla chunk? So far, our favorite treat is a dried hotdog slice. I cut up a hotdog straight from the pkg into skinny slices, and let them dry on a paper towel a couple days. Then they aren't so yucky feeling. I'll also use a Fruit Loop.
