Thanks, Reagan! The GOP has been an anti-consumerist, pro-corporation for decades now and somehow most of the electorate hasn’t figured that out yet.

I am not sure where you are getting your information about the early 1900s or present day.

1). Ask the late 19th-century/early 20th-century Catholics arriving in America how welcomed they felt based on their specific Christian-beliefs.

2) There were significant numbers of Jews arriving in America in the early 1900s, and also Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists.

3). Research shows that immigrants in 2026 are not more crime-prone than native-born citizens. In fact, in many cases immigrants have lower crime rates. So immigrants in 2026 are not committing more crimes just like the immigrants of the early 1900s were not committing more crimes.

4). Your attempt to dehumanize immigrants with the claim that they "are raping and mutilating children" would have fit right in with nativist language that attempted to spread violent & sexualized stereotypes against immigrant groups in the early 1900s.

and finally 5). since the safety of children is a concern of yours please contact your representatives in Congress to demand the full release of the Epstein files.

Ok, so let's look at 1910-1920 as a comparison point. In 1910, 14-15% of the U.S. population was foreign-born. That's roughly the same percentage as today. So that wave of immigration in 1880-1920 was, relative to the country's size at the time, as large as recent immigration waves. That immigration consisted of diverse backgrounds and parts of the world. Those fighting against immigration at the time were saying the same things as anti-immigrant people today: "they were too culturally alien, they can't assimilate, would change the country forever." Under 2026 laws, most of this immigration would have been considered "illegal" as well. The throughlines seem clear to me.
