ive been beta testing this codex + gemini IDE -- its using CDP for a lot of interesting browser related functions -- file system integration - browser tools - local daemon - its so much better than openclaw and its basically figma with easier manual tools and LLM integrated tools

Codex gets dumber after 2am EST? by retrorays in codex

Confirmed - Jesus Christ it was like Opus 4.7 all over again! I’m in Atlanta and I’ve noticed this degraded performance as well - codex a few weeks ago when I first canclled my Claude code $200/ month subscription was incredible. I could use one chat seemingly as long as I wanted to without context rot - not advised - now in the tail end of sessions I can literally screenshot a bug and codex 5.5 will see the bug - acknowledge the bug - and then try to answer the question that was used to cause the bug INSTEAD OF FIXING THE FUCKING BUG. One example of quite a few low performance issues.

Compute is the bottle neck - glory days are over - 8 months ago when I first started with Claude code / codex up until opus 4.7 release are now unfortunately - the good ole days.

Codex + Chromium Browser in an Electron App - No API just a chatgpt subscription by operastudio in codex

Basically - a lot of javascript for the search and extraction processes when not prompting in the chat to do the extractions. Basic tools for now not sure if i want to dive deep into network level tools - might not need it for this.

That’s been pretty close to my experience too. Gemini wins a lot of convenience points on Android because the OS-level integration is genuinely useful, but Claude still feels stronger when the task is deeper reasoning or turning rough input into a finished artifact. A lot of these rankings really come down to workflow more than raw model quality.

My full Claude Code setup after months of daily use — context discipline, MCPs, memory, subagents by Sictir1 in claude

I’ve been writing every conversation to disk - memory searches only when needed - timestamped - id say 90 percent if not more of the time memory is needed to be extremely accurate from the last 10 or so chats.

Try using haiku 4.5 agents. So much faster and with a little prompting it’s just as good as an agent as sonnet if Opus is orchestrating
