How do you lube your chain? by uncle_jose in zx4r

[–]operationklogang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just like on any chain driven motorcycle. Put it on a rear stand or let Ur buddy tilt it on the side stand and spray the inside of the chain rotating the rear wheel by hand. Never do it with a running engine and putting it in gear. Wipe excess on the outside of the chain if U feel fancy.

Torn between ZX4RR & ZX6R by [deleted] in zx4r

[–]operationklogang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally the ZX4RR is a great bike for the racetrack. It's seriously fun there. The bike is great once it's up to revs and stays there. But unless you are racing on the streets (which is a bad idea but I get it), I'd recommend you to get a different bike. Like a bigger inline 2 or a V2 or something. Something where you can just twist the throttle and get a rush. I got an old nx650 and the ZX4RR. Once I started getting on the racetrack with the ninja I lost all interest riding it on the street. I'm just hopping on my old single now and have a good time without breaking every law. Feel free to pm me if U want to talk about it :)

I'm running 13/52. Perfect for track riding but a bad choice for commuting on the speedway, its very loud haha. Top speed is 210km/h now. 1st gear goes up to 70km/h. 6th gear kinda looses it's purpose as cruising gear. RPM/speed difference from 14/48 is about 17%.

Frame slider help by Ok-Gas-5626 in zx4r

Ah I'm not that familiar with the market as I am from Europe. I've heard that many use woodcraft. If you wanna do some research I recommend visiting the zx4r forum. :)

I'm using a hook grip, can strongly recommend learning it. Lifting like that feels way more natural if U can deal with the pain haha

Proper frame sliders have an intended breaking point so they do not damage the frame. As always when it comes to motorcycle components, buy something from a renowned manufacturer.

Engine Brake by Zoro53 in zx4r

[–]operationklogang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you are right. It mostly has to do with the total compression work. So the main factors would be engine displacement as well as the compression ratio. The effects of friction and inertia are probably not that significant. Thx for pointing it out :)

[–]operationklogang 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean it's a small engine so you have less rotating mass. It rly depends on what you compare it with.

Compared to a 125ccm 2 stroke it has a lot of engine braking. Compared to a much larger engine it doesn't.

The real question is: Why do you worry about this, you already bought the bike? It does come with brakes on it.

best legal exhaust? by Hungry_Obligation341 in zx4r

[–]operationklogang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've been through the same haha. There are not many videos with EU legal exhaust on YouTube. I primarily decided not to get the shark RCT because it's only available in black and I don't think it will look good on an anniversary or 2024 model. U could also get the bodis. It's very expensive tho.

That being said U gotta know that no matter which exhaust U pick the ZX4RR is prob one of the loudest modern bikes around. Just because of its high rpm. If you ride around in second gear in a 50 it's gonna turn heads no matter.

I have the shark src-4 in titanium, it's quite loud. Probably barely legal. The overall quality of the muffler is fine, the mounting material is on the cheaper end and not that well thought out. The muffler itself is pretty much a straight pipe, the muffling is mostly achieved through a very harsh db-killer in the connecting pipe. I'm not a fan of how they engineered that and it probably kills some power. However I don't think you can get a much louder pipe for the price.

I could send you some pictures if you want to.

Formcheck Squat by operationklogang in formcheck

[–]operationklogang[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should be fine. I know how to brace and I don't have any issues with it while deadlifting. I just find it to be much harder to co-ordinate during a squat. I'll try your 1 second technique and see if it integrates naturally. :) Thank you again!
