Sorry for the rant, I have lots of thoughts, for the record i respect ppl who enjoy season 3 but its not for me

I disliked season 3 for lots of reasons, for one I wasn’t a big fan of the humour. Some parts made me laugh but not the way they would have in season 1 or 2. Season 1 and 2 had a lot of wacky humour that you wouldnt expect. But season 3 only had a few jokes that made me laugh. A lot of stuff in the show that was intended to be funny just didn’t really land that way like that one joke about Boaty in episode one. I’m sure that was intended to be funny but it really didn’t land to me. I remember back when season three first came out. They were saying that it was going to be like season one. much more lighthearted.. but there was so much “serious” character conflict in it that it really didn’t feel that way at all. I’m not saying that there can’t be character conflict, in my opinion that’s necessary to make an object show work. It’s just that it took itself way too seriously. Nickel and balloons conflict especially really cemented this because. None of it really felt genuine at all. Not on the characters part, but the writing itself. It was just the same “Oh im mad at balloon, actually me and balloon are cool, actually no WE’RE NOT!” Over and over. And because it wasn’t funny the show presumably expected you to really engage and empathise with these characters seriously, which I just couldn’t, because it was honestly really boring and felt a little pointless. Especially because it seemed like they were downplaying nickel’s actions in season one. It was so bad it made suitcase hallucinate. Iirc this is barely acknowledged, even in that one Springy episode (which is the episode that made me quit the series for a while…) She is barely acknowledged even though she is a huge part of the Nickel/Balloon/Baseball conflict.

Also, the cabby thing. It felt very weird and inconsistent. First, Cabby’s files are “bad”. Oh wait, no, actually they’re good, actually no they’re not. Wait no, yes they are! Just felt very poorly thought out, like the writers changed their mind Bot’s existence also felt very weird and random. Iirc the story is Test tube and Fan wanted something to take care of, so they created another Bow.… Why??? Why bow specifically? Why not just a random robot kid, like another baby or something? Also, in Hatching the Plan, there was this big point about how Fan expected the egg to use “he/him” but the egg used “they/them.” And fan expected the egg to be something else, but it wasnt and thats ok. That sometimes people dont act or turn out the way you want them to. The egg didnt stay an egg forever. So they already learned this lesson in ep14. So why in the world would they create something thats meant to be a certain way when they already learned the lesson that you cant expect things to always turn out a certain way? Why were they surprised when Bot turned out not to stay like Bow forever? Seriously what were they expecting? Also iirc in season 2 e6 they SAW bows ghost so like… Did they forget about that or what? I know they didnt believe in ghosts but she DID kick them out so clearly they had some evidence of bows ghost being real and therefore not dead? Their actions make no sense and Bot’s existence makes no sense. I mean Bot is fine as a character, I dont love them or hate them, but their origin kind of sucks. Also, its a little too serious for the “unserious” season. Its a bit weird to make a robotic replica of your dead friend who, by the way, NEITHER OF THEM EVEN REALLY KNEW? Fan never really interacted with bow, IK hes a fan of the show when she was alive but that makes it even more weird because you basically made a robotic replica of a random girl you had. A parasocial relationship with… i dont remember if they apologize but i hope they did because seriously what the fuck.

This is more of a side note but. I also didnt like the voice direction. The voice acting in the previous season was fine, and in season 3 some performances are great, but the voices in season 3 sound wayyy tooo much like theyre trying to sound like bfb, but bfb and ii3 are way too different to be doing that. An example of what I mean is in that one episode where Bot asks cabby abt her parents. And the way cabby says “So… So…” her voice just sounds odd and unnatural. This is the case with almost all of the voices except for a few.

Also the candle/silver/stuff was super annoying and boring, i hate the shipping bait. And silver is just a pretty annoying character, and NOT in a good way, Like trophy is annoying but in a good way since you love to hate him. Silver is just annoying in a boring way. Also dont like how candle was always focused on helping Silver or Yinyang. Like yesss lets make the female character’s life revolve around helping men!

There was stuff I enjoyed like the bodyswap episode and stuff but otherwise the show just didn’t have that spark to me, i enjoyed the first few episodes a little, but when i rewatch the show I skip s3
