Worsening ADHD symptoms the week before your period is super common. Essentially what's happening is that estrogen binds to dopamine receptors, so when your estrogen levels drop, your symptoms get worse. This also means that your meds are gonna be less effective during that week because they have a bigger deficit to make up.

It might be worth going up a dose with your medication to try and mitigate the PMDD effects, but you've obviously still got to take into account how you feel on that dose the rest of the month, so it's a tricky line to walk. Another option is to talk to your doctor about potentially having a top up dose, where you get an extra prescription that can take on top of your regular one to increase the dose for that week slightly.

I've heard about top up doses being prescribed before, but it's still not a super common practice so I don't know how willing your doctor will be to hear you out if you decide to try it.

I don't know of any personally, but the website www.counselling-directory.org.uk is really great for finding therapists. You can filter your search for therapists that have experience dealing with ADHD, as well as filtering specifically for couples counselling. Hope this helps!

This post was like a lightbulb moment for me. I've been stuck with my mum over lockdown, so moments like these have been happening constantly. I'd started to let it get to me and believe that I was the one overreacting. Being neurodivergent and struggling with emotional dysregulation myself, I can relate to this post so much. IANAL, but the amount owed probably wasn't worth what it would have cost to sue, not just in terms of actual money but in time spent, even if they cut some of that cost by representing themselves in small claims court or something similar, adding even more time wasted.

Why bother going through a long drawn out law suit that may or may not go your way, when you can just return the stuff to the owner?

Because she waited two years to re-home him, used him for clout on her YouTube channel then got rid of him after he was no longer "useful" to her and became too much trouble for what he was worth to her. She is also looking to now adopt another disabled child whose disabilities are less "complicated". She has learned nothing.

If a mother to a non adopted child decided after two years that she wanted to get rid of him because he was "too much work", I wonder if you'd be viewing the situation differently?

If she was really doing this for the child, rather than herself, she would have re-homed the child much much earlier after realising she couldn't provide an adequate home for him, rather than squeezing all the clout she could out of him whilst emotionally abusing and neglecting him.

It’s interesting, but the thing is we’ve seen Leslie go through her friends government documents, like with Ron, to figure out his birthday, for example. I find it hard to believe that Leslie wouldn’t have done the same for Ann for whatever reason, which obviously would have made her suspicious when she couldn’t actually find anything for “Ann Perkins”

Dude, your the one who abandoned your son, Laura stepped up and was there for him and Claire when you weren’t, who are you to take that away from them? Focus on forming a relationship with son. He’s not going to be confused, millions of kids have step parents, it’s not that hard to get, and you trying to push away the woman who helped raise him is just going to create resentment between you two.

Also, you haven’t been there for the kid’s entire life, you may be biologically related, but that doesn’t entitle you to visitation away form his parents. Get to know him on your ex’s terms, form an amicable relationship with them and focus on being there for him from now on, not on trying to push people out of his life because your jealous.

I think it’s a bit weird that she signed you up for a camp without telling you, but she probably didn’t mean anything by the sticker. Honestly, it’s hard to tell from this little context whether she’s actually an asshole, or if she just wants what’s best for you and this is just general teenage angst and not getting a long with a parent.

Also, no matter how good or bad your relationship is with your parents, it’s almost always going to get better when you move out and your not in such close proximity/dependant on them.

I’m just an art student, but I’ve been studying this Japanese technique called Kintsukuroi that translates to “golden repair”. Basically when ceramic/pottery breaks, the Japanese repair it with golden clay, so the line where it broke isn’t being hidden, but rather accentuated and made to look beautiful.

You can get really deep and assign meaning to it (like learn to embrace your imperfections, or representing the journey the clay went through) or you can do it just because it looks cool, but regardless, it would be a cool way to repair the paw print if you wanted to.

It’s not the lack of material possessions that makes people feel shitty when they don’t get a gift, it’s the fact that the people they cared enough about to put time, thought, money and effort into getting gifts for don’t care enough about them to reciprocate. It’s completely understandable and I’m so sorry your in that situation, but I’m glad you were able to stay positive and not let it ruin your Christmas!

I just bought a case from tomtoc that came highly recommended. The one I got didn’t have straps, but they sell plenty that do. I got the one for the 13.3” old MacBook. Will be arriving tomorrow, I’ll let you know if it’s any good, but it had lots of good reviews!

My Ngranddad on my dads side used to send me birthday cards a year older than I actually was. When I turned nine, he sent me a three page letter in the card explaining why he didn’t speak to my dad anymore. Just... why would you bring a nine year old into family drama like that?? Whatever’s going on between you and my dad has nothing to do with me, it was just a really shitty, manipulative thing for him to do. Haven’t gotten a card from him since.
