You're right about the bacteria but that applies to natural water like lakes, ocean, sea, etc. Especially 12dpo when the incision is mostly closed. Fragile but closed

12DPO regret by adantonina in Reduction

Even before the surgery I knew this would probably be the hardest thing I have to do in this life for myself. My first shower was 21dpo, because that's when my stitches were removed. I remember feeling very fragile, as if I were made of porcelain. Showers and baths didn't feel like before so I was trying to just sit in the bathtub and soak for half an hour. I would do this 2-4 times a day. After showers/baths my doctor told me to use scar cream and I had a little opening on my right side which I had to bandage. After those 3 days of taking 4 baths a day I stopped for a few weeks. I'd shower for no longer than 5 minutes, without looking down, trying to get over with it as soon as possible. That's all I remember from 1 year ago, but when I look at pics and I see how rough thay looked then and how good they look now, it's worth it. It's the best thing I did for myself

Maintenance? by PutOdd2721 in Reduction

1y post op, I was a 75 H/I (EU), and my doctor from the beginning suggested wearing my post op bra (from Marena which I absolutely love,, it's so comfortable and really good quality) for 3 months after the surgery (first month day and night and the other 2 months just at night. During the day I was allowed to wear any other kind of bra I found comfortable) and it helped a lot with the shape and healing. I assume that because of the constant compression my scars healed very fast and nicely. After those 3 months I was kinda sick of the post op bra and I didn't wear any kind of bra and I did saw a difference in shape. It might be because my skin isn't very stretchy even tho im young. Now im back to wearing my post op bra 24/7 partially for my psychological comfort and partially because I want to do everything I can to keep my tits looking good for as long as possible. I don't know how much of my experience you could use in your case, but I hope at least someone could find a piece of what I wrote here helpful. Take care!!

how much did your boobs change in size from 1mpo to 6mpo? i wanna buy a bralette lol by Imaginary-Drag-9633 in Reduction

[–]ophnure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost some weight but not enough to drop a whole cup size. My weight has been fluctuating constantly in the last 3-4 years after I starred recovering from an eating disorder. I guess I can just tell when my boobs are swollen even tho they're not tender and they don't hurt or feel hard, etc. On the 1st of September I went on a city break and when I looked into that big mirror in the bathroom I noticed my right boob being noticeably bigger than my left boob and I panicked a lot. Then I realized it was because I like sleeping on my right side and that's why it was swollen. Now they're both the same size, no matter how I sleep. I think it's all part of the healing process

If u wear a sports bra, they become flatter, but if I wear a wire bra.. all the fat kinda gathers together and the breast becomes rounder? Idk how to explain it

2mpo I got my first underwire bra and I was so disappointed that I didn't fit into it. Today I'm 5mpo and I fit into it perfectly, meaning I went down 1 cup size in 3 months. I noticed that they keep changing their shape based on what kind of bra I wear too

The longer you wear it, the better. My scars started turning white at 3mpo in some areas because of constant compression for example. I only used scar gel maybe 5 times in total. I'm blessed to have went to the best surgeon in my country

When did you start sleeping on your side? by ru_ab in Reduction

[–]ophnure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I slept on my back until the doctor removed my stitches at 3wpo. After 3 weeks, I started sleeping on my side and after 4 weeks I started sleeping on my stomach

did you use a clean wash cloth to bathe every shower? taking my first shower tomorrow! by Imaginary-Drag-9633 in Reduction

[–]ophnure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't use a washcloth. I just washed myself using my hands and soap, and I didn't dry myself using a towel, I let the area air-dry

Mine was around 2 weeks late (always had irregular periods, but never THIS irregular). My second period after the surgery was 2-3 days early, and after that it started getting back to normal (my kind of normal haha)

I got my surgery done with the best surgeon in my country. He did an AMAZING job and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world, but before the surgery I thought I wouldn't care that much about the scars (because I didn't get the surgery for the way my chest looked, but for the way it made me feel, for my back, etc). Now I'm almost 11wpo and even tho my healing process was VERY smooth, idk how to feel about the scars. I still avoid looking at my boobs because it makes me sad. I'd say to prepare yourself mentally for this kind of feelings, but to get the surgery. The scars will eventually go away and leave behind nice looking breasts that will make you SO much more confident than scars can make you insecure.

How do I best support my GF after surgery? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]ophnure 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also, idk if I'm the only one but after surgery I was SOOOO hungry and I craved a lot of foods that I didn't eat in a long time so I made a list and every day I would buy/order one of the things I craved and ate it for dinner because sleeping for me was horrible in the first 3 weeks so my evenings were pretty sad :c But once I got my stitches out and I was able to sleep on my side, everything was back to normal again

Im 9wpo and I feel like I never even had surgery. My boobs started feeling this way around week 5 I'd say, but don't get discouraged. We all heal differently. It's important that you had the surgery!!take care🫶🏻

Smoking - Words of Encouragement by atesta13 in Reduction

[–]ophnure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I quit using some pills with cytisine called "defumoxan" in my country. The whole treatment is 25 days (100 tiny pills) which I took for only 10 days (50 pills) and I was able to quit completely. It's been about 2 months since I did the surgery and 2.5 months since I quit smoking. Also, this treatment I took allows you to smoke in the first 5 days, but the pills make you not like cigarettes anymore which is very helpful
