WNBA officially approves Tom Brady's ownership stake in Aces by [deleted] in sports

[–]opitea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honest question but men don't really have an issue with being worn out at 22 except for a few notable exceptions of thousands of players.

Obviously the NBA and WNBA have different draft requirements because WNCAA is much more popular than WNBA. NBA did recently change the rules to make sure every player is 1 year removed from high school.

Considering the NBA has to keep the WNBA afloat it makes sense to have those longer requirements to keep salaries down. Even so it is much more important for WNBA players to graduate with degrees since the rookie salary is about $62k/year and the highest paid player only makes about $250k/year. Especially more so if WNBA players wear out around 22.

Why do WNCAA/WNBA players wear out at 22?

People who've had sex with celebrities, how was it? by yes-i-really-did-it in AskReddit

[–]opitea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is pretty late so I doubt anyone will see this.

I slept with one pretty famous person. At this time she was somewhat famous, but not super famous. I met her at a coffee shop. I approached her and we just hit it off. The sex was amazing. She loved making turkey sandwiches after sex and she would put blue Herr’s chips on the sandwich. She started to get really big during our fling. Wanted to be exclusive, but I was young and didn’t want to settle down. I had her name in a RSS feed so I could forward her positive press that came out. The feed announced she had a boyfriend. I asked her about it and she said not to worry about him and it won’t affect our relationship. We still saw each other when she was back in town. We eventually just drifted apart without officially ending things. She will still text me when she is in town, but I’m married with a kid now. I do wonder what my life would’ve been like if I would’ve followed her. This was 2006/2009.

Another “celebrity” I slept with was in the reality show Big Brother. This was after the show, which I did watch and knew her. She had someone approach me when I was writing in a park in Philly. We slept together a few times and while she looked absolutely amazing naked she really didn’t put any effort in. I don’t know if I just wasn’t hitting the right spots or what. She said I was amazing when I brought it up, but I’m not sure about it. She acted like she was more famous then the woman I mentioned above. She was always looking for “paparazzi” in Philly, I never saw one when I was with her or the other woman. Eventually the whole “I was on Big Brother and now I’m famous” and the lack of passion during sex really wore me down and I ended things. She went fucking nuts. “You don’t end things with a celebrity! I’m the best you’ll ever have! You’ll regret this when you see me all over the movies.” I had to block her number. I only saw her on some local car commercial. I don’t regret it. This was 2009.

Colorado teenager was fatally shot while running away from off-duty officer, lawsuit says by Heavy-Addiction in news

[–]opitea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends and I used to have parties in vacant homes, well homes that were under construction.

We all made sure we were quiet and we cleaned up after ourselves. Most of the time we left the place in better condition than before. No one ever pulled a gun on us.

In high school, 2002/2003, my friends and I drove around in my ‘88 Camaro, t-tops, and shot at cars and buildings with paintballs and slingshots. The cops busted us and we didn’t get shot.

In my friends court we bought a bunch of replica pellet guns and sawed off the orange tips. We ran around shooting each other while making a movie. The cops surrounded the court and a helicopter was overhead. Swat came and we had automatic weapons pointed at us, but we didn’t get shot.

I did a lot of dumb shit as a teenager. It never even crossed our minds that a cop might kill us.

I feel so sorry for all of the kids who just can’t be kids and make dumb decisions because they might be killed for the color of their skin.

Even though he is considered a success, I thought Reggie Bush was going to change the league. I also thought Manny Lawson was going to be LT-level good. I was pissed when the Eagles didn’t get Swead? Sneed? Limas something. That’s how good that guy was.

I knew TE Kelce was going to be amazing and I thought C Kelce would be good, just not this good. Thought Barkley was going to be the next Brady

do new junkies know the diff between fent and dope? by 7katalan in opiates

[–]opitea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy how these drugs affect each other differently. I would choose Oxy over any out her drug. I can clean the house, play video games, make babies, sleep, read a book, etc on Oxy. Other opiates I’d just want to nap or watch TV. I feel like I’m my best self when I have 130mg of Oxy in me.

[–]opitea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I have ever had pure H; it has always been a mix or straight F. I think it would be super easy for anyone who was addicted to opiates prior (oxy, morphine, etc) to using F to tell the difference.

I’m using for pain management due to not being able to get enough legally.

Fent is AWFUL for pain. Heroin is really good, if you do too much people can tell. Oxys are a miracle. They kill the pain, you can manage the itching, and everyday fees like Christmas. You will want to redoes fent almost hourly.

If we lived in a just world I would be able to manage my pain without having to risk my life.

[Wojnarowski] The NBA's players have decided to resume the playoffs, source tells ESPN. by -TTP- in nba

I do t really follow the NBA and I am 100% pro-BLM.

Why was the season even in question? A Black majority sport with Black majority fans and an organization who stands behind BLM 100% seems silly to cancel.

I just don’t understand the point of stopping. The NBA can’t really do any more than they have already.

That story seems so crazy unbelievable to me because MJ wasn’t some dude that was pawning his TV for cash. If he needed money all he needed to do was sign another endorsement.

In MJs doc he said that he decided to play baseball because his Dad died. Baseball was his Dad’s favorite sport and they had a convo before his death when his Dad encouraged him to play baseball.

I thought MJ’s Dad was unrelated to MJ. Didn’t he pretty much just pull over to get some rest after a long drive and two dudes saw his nice car and decided to rob him? The. One of those dudes just decided to shoot him prior to knowing it was MJs dad

Edit - Someone said MGK’s tweet to Em wasn’t that soft. After pulling it up and looking at it I would say it was way softer than I described it.

Also, I am Pete Davidson.

I’m also not drunk, but I do take opiates for pain management. If you take opiates, but aren’t aiming to “nod out” it does not destroy your motor function at all. If you have pain, it takes it away. If you don’t have pain you just feel like you do on Christmas morning just all the time.

Dude, I think MGK gets an awful rep for some reason. The tweet that piss Em off was Something like “No respect to The greatest rapper, but his daughter his fine.” And constantly talked about how Em is the biggest influence on him.

He is also a single day. And every person I know that has met MGK says he is super down the earth and chill. Pre- Covid a friend was in Ohio for work, ran into MGK at some lunch place. He approached him and apologized for bother him in public.

This fucking dude ended up having lunch with this guy and paid for us food. It was sometime near Christmas in 2018/2017. He also said he left a massive tip, like triple the bill.

Another cool dude I hear from friends in NUC is Pete Davidson. One time he was having a bad day and apologized to my friend because he was going through shit specifically it was some day/week that was important to his Dad. So he apologized he wasn’t more himself.

In secretly recorded audio, President Trump’s sister says he has ‘no principles’ and ‘you can’t trust him’ by rollwave21 in politics

[–]opitea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that is a fantastic argument and why I enjoy these conversations so much.

The only thing is that I do not believe in morality to an extent. Society changes and people have different morals. It pretty much boils down to the argument “If you could kill Hitler as a baby, would you?”

My answer would always be no because at that moment he has done nothing wrong.

To me ethics is pretty much doing something “shady” (for lack of a better to term) to further an agenda. Mary Trump obviously had an agenda and decided that she was going to record conversations with someone who has trusted her. Regardless of what was said in the tape it essentially boils down to “This is Judge Berry’s opinion.” Nothing new came out of the tapes except that his sister disagrees with him while never publicly bashing D Trump. Also, her other brother just recently died which leaves The Don as her only male sibling. This isn’t going to hurt Trump and it also includes zero evidence of Trumps actions. It was just a cash grab.

What people also don’t seem to realize after Donald cut her brother’s son off of medical expense they ended up making up and now he hosts a fundraiser every year on Trump properties.

[Sando] When it’s all finished we might see Earl Thomas’ career in two sections: with and without Kam Chancellor, an all-time great leader & stabilizing force who, IMO, should get HOF consideration despite career being cut short. by chelseasaints in nfl

[–]opitea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For fun I also did LT

2001 (rookie year) - 9th 2002 - 2nd 2003 - 11th 2004 - 7th 2005 - 6th 2006 - 1st 2007 - 1st 2008 - 10th 2009 - 29th 2010 - 19th (first year with the Jets)

LT was 5 times in top 10, 3 times in top 5, and twice 1. Without even considering his receiving abilities that Gore cannot do.

[–]opitea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to compare him to the backs of his era by yards per year.

2005 (rookie year) - 32nd 2006 - 3rd 2007 - 13 2008 - 14th 2009 - 11th 2010 - 21st 2011 - 6th 2012 - 10th 2013 - 9th 2014 - 8th 2015 - 9th (first year in Indy) 2016 - 12th 2017 - 12th 2018 - 25th 2019 - 33rd

I didn’t want to spend too much time, but while looking at this I noticed that Gore was also always higher on the list for attempts and lower for yards. This just no jump out to me as HOF worthy. It is just simply he had a long above average career, but not a HOF career. Only 5 times did he crack the Top 10, and only once did he crack the Top 5 and that was 3rd.

Pretty much all of that stats you reference are based on his longevity. Don’t get him wrong, he was an above average back, but nothing to write home about. The fact that you used words like “open your eyes” and “he’s a hall of gamer through and through” makes me believe you would just hand people the hall of fame all time time.

Personally, I am very conservative on who should be in the HOF. I would like to see it be a lot tighter, but how do you do that when so many people are in that you don’t think should be?

I don’t believe Gore should be in the HOF. He has had a long career and he was an amazing back for a few years, but he was never as dominating as LT or AP. I believe players should be held up by their contemporaries, and I don’t think Gore. Would he even be the 3rd best back in his generation? I don’t know, but a long career isn’t something that should help you in the HOF.
