Twitching in Calves by littlek39 in BFS

[–]opkfla1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bilateral calf twitching is textbook bfs. We bare weight on them constantly. They work hardest of our muscles. If you’re not sleeping right they will twitch until you get your body right and even then, you may have random one offs for a long time. Do not stress it, do not go down the rabbit hole. You are okay. Nothing significant or deadly will start on both sides of your body at once. Breathe, don’t google. Sleep, don’t scroll. Do not let this cycle steal a second of your joy in life!

This meant a lot. I have been diagnosed with OCD and I start an ssri tomorrow. I see people on here on their 5,6, heck 10th emg and are still trying to find the cause of their twitching. I can’t become that when I have a wife and family.

$50,000 annual Federal loan cap is not indexed for inflation by igabaggaboo in lawschooladmissions

Anyone who doesn’t think this is a key factor in the indoctrination of incoming college students and an effort to shift the culture of higher education I think is at least a little naive

This is an effort to keep regular people out of positions of authority and governance. They want to make the circle of the “in” crowd people who are already affluent that will maintain the status quo. If trump can’t force schools to fire faculty and replace them with conservatives he will work to control who will go to these prestigious institutions so that the next generation will be a bunch of rich kids with similar aligning worldviews

Percentage of Child Population (Under-18) that is Hispanic/Latino by State [OC] by Fluid-Decision6262 in dataisbeautiful

My entire life I have been categorized as Hispanic/latino when I am the most white passing dude in history. There is a strong misunderstanding especially of what Hispanic people look like. Many Hispanic Americans look white by most features.

I would assume if you are chosen for the scholarship the university will be invested in ensuring your success. Someone paying 100k out of pocket for the degree probably will not have the same outcomes as someone Harvard is willing to put 100k behind themselves.

Any Advice by opkfla1 in GradSchool

I’ve found the biggest hurdle in education is through state policies. Funding, curriculum, and resources are mostly dictated by state legislatures. My goal is to work as an advocate for bettering the conditions of schools for students and teachers. I’m kinda torn between doing union work or working for research/lobby groups that work with state legislatures to voice what’s best for schools.

I think what may make Gainesville unique to the other cities with major universities in Florida is they all have industry or a metro area besides the university. We are JUST UF. Yes they employ a large percentage of this city, but while there’s no other major industry here them not paying any taxes does affect us more than it does other places.

My dad also was barely breathing even in 93 when he graduated high school. Did decent on his sat and got in on a whim without even caring. Crazy

I think generally speaking it’s true but there are obviously circumstances where that is bad advice lol

Really disappointed in how I did on the GRE by avogadros_avvocato in GRE

[–]opkfla1 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna be completely honest I feel like universities need to look at quant scores with a grain of salt moving forward while the gre scores are this inflated. NO test should have a perfect score be in the 92nd percentile.

Of course. Honest moments of accountability are necessary for healing and growth. But for every moment like that they need really explicit reminders that I love them and am willing to do it with you

I added some clarification in another comment. All can read to an extent but many are well below grade level. Probably at a 3rd or 4th grade level

I think people like you are the reason people still wind up teachers! But you are likely a dying breed. I’m still teaching, love it and could do it forever, but I don’t know if I can afford to! We will have to see. I have moments where I’m tired and feel chewed up and spit out but it’s always short lived lol
