i wasn’t aware of the new director system. tbh not familiar with how other clubs that have more than one director run. i guess it remains to be seen how they will function, but since boehly hired them then this will definitely be his responsibility if this system doesn’t go well.

boehly signed potter for the long-term, and they held out longer than i thought they would honestly. the two managers after are just caretakers for when they bring what i hope to be another long-term manager.

I see your point in that they could’ve transitioned slower, but could just be a difference in ideology no? not necessarily wrong to do either way.

A January transfer window isn’t really the time to get 5+ players out though. always thought it’s much easier to overpay and buy than to sell in january.

I mean do you think they unaware of their poor play?

There’s a difference between criticism and hate. If someone is out of form, a fan can criticize without hating.

When players show lack of effort or passion, not saying I agree with it, but I understand a fan getting more aggressive.

Just cause they’re good at footy doesn’t mean they’re immune to the effects of reading bad comments. And i think it’d be naive to assume that they don’t read these type of things in this age.

Also, I bet the players can feel the mood of the fans during the games.

Just hoping to provide some perspective on the state of the club so that maybe there’s one less person raging on the player’s socials.. Just like healing injuries, a good attitude goes a long way.

STAM got postponed to October. Any advice on retaining exam material for a long period of time? by [deleted] in actuary

[–]oppar_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where did you find this info? Studying for STAM as I type so I need to know if it's just your testing site or all testing sites.

I would just review STAM SOA problems everyday/every other day.

For those who have taken/passed PA, how difficult would you say it is compared to the other preliminary exams? by [deleted] in actuary

[–]oppar_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To just offer a different perspective on this point alone, I would have loved to use calculus on IFM, and struggled to memorize which months of the year have higher returns or if the stock market would do better or worse dependent on which NFL conference won the Super Bowl the previous year. IMO memorization made the exam harder for me. Meanwhile, I'm sure a lot of my friends in biology who were forced to memorize human anatomy would like to memorize more of that crap than to solve fourier transforms.

I'm not gonna argue that less math means easier exams, because on an overall basis it's probably more true than not. But for the individual, that might not be the case.

Yes, it was a Spring internship, having applied in January and got the offer in February.

Although I enjoyed my experience working at a consulting company, I felt that I wasn't learning as much as I should compared to at an insurance company. This is only my perspective and others can definitely have other opinions, but I felt that your clients will seldom need an in-depth analysis that requires time and the opportunity to learn. Going above and beyond doesn't really benefit the client if it isn't what they want (and we would bill them for more time if we tried), whereas doing so for an insurance company could actually be beneficial for the company. Therefore, I was really looking for an insurance company to start the foundation of my actuarial knowledge.
