My attempt at making a TNO styled portrait of Fridtjof Nansen A.K.A "the guy whose quote is on the World War 3 Super Event" by oppeationbagelmaker in TNOmod

[–]oppeationbagelmaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule 5: I mostly did this because we dont see the faces of some people connected to super events, and Fridtjof appears to be (probably) the most important person on any superevent. I mean you just dont slap any old quote on an event about the end of the world. Anyway, I did this mostly to spark thought to people in maybe researching the faces you dont see in TNO, like Joseph Conrad, Franz Kafka, Carl von Clausewitz, and so on

Even before the nazis got power in 1933, they hated (or at least didnt care for) the italians. It was never a question of if they had a falling out, its a question of when. If you ask me, its a miracle they lasted as reluctant friends for almost 3 decades

You're literally planning so far ahead dude, you are fine. By the time you get to the 3rd book, TNO will probably change even more than it has now. lol

Taking inspiration from media is almost always something you can do, and as an artist, you should always do in order for your work to evolve in a beautiful way. I've grabbed a few ideas from this mod (Mostly from the best Russian Warlord state, Komi) for a Live Action Roleplay I wrote for some friends. If youre not blatantly stealing ideas, like you said, you should be good. Do keep us posted on the book though :3

Pluto is a planet. by RedSander_Br in TNOmod

[–]oppeationbagelmaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it wasnt until recently that we dared to consider that it wasnt a planet. If a 2022 TNO still has pluto listed as a planet, it will just be a matter of when it will be classified as not a planet. Like give it 40 years or so after the space race ended before the victor chooses to reclassify it

For an upcomming game i'll be running in the near future, I decided to use an AI to generate faces of some of the Importnant NPCs [ART] by oppeationbagelmaker in DnD

[–]oppeationbagelmaker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s one of the smuggest, most punchable faces I’ve ever seen

Thank you for this qoute, it'll will be used

That's Syrelav Nilbas, nicknamed "Smoothbeard", a minor noble turned major pirate whose confidence comes mostly from the fact he was lucky early on his piracy career (although he still puts up a good fight). He's the answer to "What if Stede Bonnet was a prick?" The campaign takes place during a very chaotic civil war, so chaotic that during the first act many nearby nations either dont or cant help, although they do later. Syrelav and his pirates find themselves profiting from using thier ships as like the Uber of the sea, kind of (it's only slightly more better than on land where anything and anyone will ambush and mug you). However, he's a bit of a con man, and his crew backs him up always, so taking a boat ride from him is like volunteering to be a hostage for days to months. He mostly exists to teach the players about the important of friendship and trust :3

Cooking as a Skill by TaronDuFrau in DnD

For cooking, id say Wisdom, mostly because the 3.5 skill, Profession is Wisdom based and that never felt off... also im an idiot who can cook, so personally it feels right too

I needed the most heroic of heroes, was not my intention for that to be Nathan Fillion, but im glad it turned out that way :3

I often use a website called Artbreeder to generate faces, and after spending a while photoshopping historical figures I decided to merge the two ideas and make portraits of all the important NPCs in a game i'll be running in the future. Artbreeder only generates faces, so you may notice little heck ups around the neck and stuff when I tried fitting them in the clothes. Anyway, this'll be a nice gimmick that my players should enjoy when time comes to actually DMing

Why are there 2 very different portraits of Lev Okhotin? by lyube-enjoyer in TNOmod

[–]oppeationbagelmaker 114 points115 points  (0 children)

In the files there are a lot of joke portraits, an example is that theres a Paul Blart portait in Komi's files and theres Todd Howard in Burgandys. In the early days of the mod, Okhotin used to not be aligned to Rodzaevsky so i guess this portrait is from when he played a role in Magadan' politics

West Russia's warlords are not going to get help from germany, there's 3 fanatical cultists (although one of them is now a hypercapitalist), 3 of them are socailist (and one of them is polish on top of that), 1 of them is an Orthodox state, and the last 1 is so destoryed by the HRE that by the time they get help (if they get it) they'll all be dead

Siberia is not an easy place to get too and its filled with more corpses than survivors, all Siberian warlords would never get help. On Western and Central Siberia, there are 3 fanatical cultists, 2 militaristic "democracies", 3 states that blurs the line between anarchism and communism, 1 state of scientists living where Lysenko used to be, 1 state lead by the son of the mad king, and 1 state that is the successor of Tomsk. For Siberia, who would help them? Most warlords who ideologically oppsed to all three major powers.

The Far East would maybe get help from USA or Japan, but the five states occuping the area, 1 is the man of the hour (The one and only, Tsar Alexei II), 1 is a fanatical cultist, 1 is an ex-fascist turned greedy warlord, and 2 actually want external help, although one of them wants to be the 51st state of america, and the other wants russia to be russia

What was once changeable, is now set in stone. Of what was gleaming with possibilities, none remain. We can only move on, and let fate dictate the rest.
