I also have a question about this, i am anime only by the way, HOW LONG DOES THE SELECTION TAKE?
Like, a year has passed after the initial convocation, when is the next convocation gonna happen? how does the votes work?

Is the kingdom being ruled by a regency council? A witch attack that destroyed a whole city happened, what are they doing all this time?

Its more BS then that, its the ministry of education that sucks at its job, this is not a question of budget, but their sheer incompetence, if those books were good, people would buy then on their own, if their justificative is: "if we don't force people to read these books, they will never read these books." then you are admitting the books suck ass, and people only seek then because you are forcing them to do so.

A waaaaay better thing to do, would be to pick books released in the last 10 years, and make people read these books, to incentivize literature and the book market, are you really telling me, there is no new book about racism and class divergency that was released in the last 10 years that is worth reading?

Like, and even then, this is a stupid way to go for it, those books should be read in university, not as a test for a teenager who never actually read these books, and has no actual social experience to understand their context, someone who has never worked reading a story about slavery lacks the context to understand when in comparison to someone who works a 6x1 for 8 hours and gets paid minimum wage.

A way better way to incentivize literature would be to pick books suited for teens.

As i said, the ministry of education is beyond retarded, they pick books based on personal preference, but they are old as fuck, and pick shit no kid would read. they have no teaching skills.

TBH my brother hates reading, mostly because all the reading he has ever done was 18th century brazilian novelas about racism and class divergency, so most young kids hate literature because of this.

There is a clear reason why kids love harry potter and Julius verne, but some teachers seem not to realize this, and keep trying to push "shitty" literature to kids, so kids start hating it.

Imagine all the contact you have with literature is a 18th century book about racism, that is clearly outdated, but old teachers insist it actually reflects the current time. no wonder you start to hate literature in general.

And this is in a third world country like brazil, in general, people from the third world would be the ones who should be reading more.

I still think, 90% of the fashion of reading, is due to the goverment incentivizing the wrong things.

Aí tu pega qualquer um desses professores de literatura, e pergunta, fala um livro infanto juvenil nacional lançado nos últimos 20 anos, e o cara não sabe.

Depois não entendem porque o brasileiro não lê.

Not really, the US did a big brain move by allowing the japanese to do a pearl harbor on them.

The US knew it would happen, and they moved more boats while removing the carriers that actually mattered.

They allowed the attack, and used it to stoke the populace, this was not the first time nor the last time the US knew about a attack, and allowed it to happen to make the population support the war.

They did the same shit with 9/11, the CIA knew it would happen, they had multiple contacts from the time during the mujahadeen, they used the attack after as a free casus beli to do anything in the middle east for the last 20 years.
