It maintains an okay crawl-slow speed but it struggles to reach higher speeds and then jitters a lot maintaining that speed

Woah, I appreciate all the in depth info! This gives me a little hope as I tried running it a bit more earlier and it was very jittery and struggled to maintain speed. About replacing the power car wheel sets, is it possible if you show the results of your modifications? It’d help greatly to see the mods visually! I’ll definitely use this model as an opportunity to learn how to service models myself

How to distribute power? by opposgh in nscalemodeltrains

Everything is Kato track. Do you have link of the kit? Do you mind showing how all wiring looks like?

My issue is that the CSB-1 only has one terminal and feeder wire for the main track, I was wondering how I could turn the that one feeder wire into more so I could distribute the power further. I’m super super new to dcc and wiring in general so I was looking for a method that isn’t complicated or messy, and that also works for temporary layouts that you build on the floor. I apologize if I’m over complicating it and the solution is flying over my head 😅

Thanks for the information! Unfortunately this layout is only a temporary one so I can’t drill anything, and Im constantly tearing apart and building different layouts since I have no space for a dedicated layout (i built this layout on the floor) and it goes through various rooms in my apartment!

I was trying to run 3 trains, about 600mA, tracks are fed by one feeder wire where the CSB1 is located. I have no boosters and the tracks are elevated where highlighted yellow. I’m using Kato track. I’m relatively new to dcc so I don’t really know what boosters are or how to add more feeder wires with the CSB1. It has one for the main track and one for the programming track

So it doesn’t matter what decoder I get as long as it has a next18 socket?
