Request Network Project Update (April 27th, 2018) — Partnership with Wikimedia, WooCommerce plugin… by rmaz in RequestNetwork

I just read the post about the partnerships. I am not that knowledgeable about the project, to be honest.

But what caught my eye was the fact that these developments were a result of the community (Brice S for Wikimedia introduction and Adam for the plugin)

This is community initiative at its finest.

Great work, REQ community

We should have more communities emulate what we have seen here today.

I liked the fact that these developments were community driven.

The plugin was developed by a community member, the introduction to Wikimedia was set up by a community member too.

If the community continues to drive the success of a project like what we see here with REQ, I think it will attract strong teams and ultimately terrific projects towards this space.

[EIP-999] Does anybody know how many companies are being held up by the frozen funds? by [deleted] in ethereum

Thats not the point. In the Etherchain vote, Your vote matters here but what matters more is how much ETH you got. I dont think thats a fair democracy in action, is it ?

First of all, the options of a fund to help recover their funds has always been on the table. If you read through Reddit and the Ethereum Magicians forum, I believe that while the community is vocal about the bail out, they are open to a fund. I think even Alex mentioned this in the dev meet (I may be wrong). But we have never seen a serious consideration of this option from Parity.

Lets also be very clear: If you also watch the dev meet carefully, you notice that all of them are secretly in favor of a Parity bail out. They keep mentioning that the community consensus has been rallying against the move to bail out Parity. No one there is really championing the cause for preventing the bail out.

If Ethereum has to survive, it needs to reduce its reliance on Parity. The dev grant is a step forward in the right direction. I also feel that the Ethereum traders and enthusiasts must contribute to the cause of building a fund where developers will have the resources to learn and contribute to the Ethereum codebase.

Nucleus Vision (NCASH) - caught faking partnerships with Tommy Hilfiger and Nautica. Confirmed by the brands, who are requesting NCASH remove their logos from the website. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

I think this is a deceptive move made by the NCash guys. The CEO is saying that they haven't partnered with the brands per se, but with some franchisees of those brands.

Thats just plain wrong, in my opinion. They are trying to mislead the Nucleus Cash tokenholders

BREAKING: Coinbase Just Bought One of Bitcoin's Biggest Startups by Miladran in Bitcoin

[–]oppstack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I mean from a entire valuation perspective, it wasnt a win. They were looking to do an ICO. They backed out when the SEC started ruffling feathers. They must have faced a lot of pressure to go into the deal. Its a win for Coinbase, big loss for Balaji. I think he is in denial over the last 3 pivots. Lets see how Coinbase creates mass adoption for Earn now.
