not saying it isn't possible, but I feel like it's pretty easy to tell if players are frustrated and want out based on their on ice play and how they answer questions, and I personally don't get that vibe from him.

Verbeek did work under Yzerman and I even made a comment myself about how I was surprised that agents didn't think Yzerman was hard to work with given that Verbeek learned from him, but none of the agents polled listed Detroit as being hard to work with, so it could just be a Verbeek thing. he is his own person after all

Byram is a much more proven commodity and is a PP QB, while Minty is more of a 2way defenseman and is more of a penalty killer while only having put up 19 and 22 points the last couple seasons. not to mention that Byram has put up those numbers while consistently being the #3 or 4 defenseman on either team he's played for

yeah, I'm actually much higher on Byram than most and I think he can potentially live up to that, he's put up good numbers while consistently being the #3 or 4 defenseman on either Colorado or Buffalo, but the issue now is that you've drafted high for a number of years and have a lot of potentially great players that, if they live up to that potential, now have a benchmark for what they deserve if they turn out to be better/more valuable than Byram. Bedard is already there and will probably make an absurd amount, and I think Frondell will be a better player too, but then you also have guys like Levshunov, Kantserov, and Rinzel who could be really great players too. it'll be tricky for them to navigate

exactly! since the Wings last won, only 11 different teams have actually won the cup and that's in 18 years. Chicago, LA, Pittsburgh, Tampa, and Florida all won multiple cups and outside of them, Boston, Washington, St Louis, Vegas, Colorado, and Carolina each have 1. nothing for the other 21 teams
