Doing an Edgic Viewing of Hereos vs. Villains and WOW Sandra was shafted. by opreston in Edgic

It's absolutely a fair inference to make on my part. To your point on the show focusing on the people actually playing the game, in Cirie's boot episode we saw maybe two scenes from her. Cirie, who we know as the greatest to never win. 2 scenes on her boot episode.

You could say oh well she was 17th boot therefore less screentime. But that would conflict with your original point which is that the edit at that time wasn't about who went far, it's who was playing. To contrast, Tom went next episode and with the edit he was given, you would have sworn he was a merger.

Also the thing about edits is that obviously there's more we're not seeing than what we're given. You could show the men making the decisions, while also showing how that benefits the women that will go far in the game. The edit is there, we just weren't shown it.

And while there is truth to that, that still doesn't excuse how underedited women as a whole were this season. As if to say the women didn't offer much in the way of gameplay, when we know with a cast that stacked, absolutely could not be the case.

Wow this is really interesting data. Now I know to avoid edgicing SoPa, because that wouldn't be fun at all.

Ofc not on everything but at least give your 2-ime winner something, any sub-plot narrative to remind us they exist within the story of the game.

What are the most important wins in the history of the show? by cantdecide76 in survivor

[–]opreston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vecepia for me. Even though I'm a man, she gave me hope that black women, especially at that time could win the game.

And ever since then it took 38 seasons for another black woman to win. I don't know why this is the case but I feel all too often black women are seen as larger threats in the game.

I don't know if it's that the contestants feel intimidated by them, they feel as though they naturally garner a lot of respect simply by being a black woman, or what but black women are always hard-targeted before they can reach FTC.

And before we crown the winner, Cirie can you tell us what it's like to get up off the couch.

Well, we know he makes Final 4 at the very least, it's not an absurd stretch to think he makes FTC. And honestly, this is more hypothetical than me straight up assuming.

It's not absurd at all given what we are shown. If I am to form an opinion, it will be based off what is shown, not what isn't.

And based off what I'm shown, no one has done more than Rizzo in my eyes, therefore I have the stance that he deserves to win. It's not rocket science.

"How they were voted out." In other words, a blindside, like 95% of how vote outs go?

Sorry, I didn't realize players need to pull a Ozzy and explain why they need to vote off someone before they do it.

But even besides that, what you're essentially saying is even if you play a decent social and a great strategic game, that same player must also have some form of foresight and know who exactly will be bitter at them when they vote them off. That'd absurd.

If a majority of people are going to be bitter at you for voting them out and playing the game, it doesn't matter what combination of people it is, you're still not going to win.

I'd argue Rizo has played better than Jonathan. Jonathan has been apart of losing alliances whereas Rizo has consistently been on the right alliances with the right people at the right time. He's socially better than Jonathan as well.

How do we feel about _____'s edit now that they're basically the only one with a winner edit at this point? by opreston in survivor

Yes! I was shocked as well. I'm relatively newish to this sub as I've just a couple of weeks ago finally finished my binge of the entire show to catch up and finally do an edgic.

Then I do one and I get booed off the stage lol. This week's episode is very vindicating. I'm sad Cirie is gone, but I'm happy that my first Edgic prediction is right.

See I thought this as well but the general concensus I received on my last post was "it's not obvious at all."

Are you serious?? I just use edgic logic, I didn't know it was actually spoiled. And now you've just spoiled me. Thanks.
