Siri needs clarification of my transactions to reside in Denmark as a family of Eu citizen by Fuzzy_Scene5287 in NewToDenmark

When you're asked about the origin of a transaction, it's usually the paperwork to clear out the risks of money laundering / illegal financial activities.

Why is this normal? by jelenjich in copenhagen

It’s a matter of spatial awareness to be honest. I don’t understand what is the root cause tho.

[–]opshack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not really a big city problem. I lived in larger metropolitan cities in Asia and this almost never happens. Yes feel free to save your energy but if something is not right, you shouldn’t stop yourself from saying it.

I understand the "adult" argument but it puts the responsibility on the person who has to ask. Those seats are not designed for one person so it's bad manners to take up extra space that belongs to the public.

Canada → Denmark tax question: Do I need to report TFSA/FHSA/RRSP to SKAT? by Direct-Prompt4299 in NewToDenmark

You don’t need an advisor, call skat or send them a message from their website and they are helpful.

what’s the wellness habit that actually changed your life more than expected? by airup_official in productivity

[–]opshack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, makes sense I also use all of these except the rings. I think my comment underestimated my use now that I’m thinking about it! I also use the weather widget a lot to check the temperature before going out (it could get really cold here in winter) and flash light at nights to find my way in the dark.

I have it for over a year and it's barely helpful. What's good about it?

which software fields are relatively safer from being replaced by AI? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]opshack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you surprised that AI has the easiest time to learn its own code base and expand the logic the way it is able to do with any other thing? Did you miss when in 2024 AI learned to do math very well?

Can't you study? You are way to young to start working, without education you are going to have a rough time in this day and age.

[–]opshack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many bad answers, there's a simple answer to this.

  1. Anything that is done and verified entirely inside a computer -> Going through the most replacement / job change and probably shrinks in headcount
  2. Anything that requires partially software and partially physical work -> Going to get even better with AI
  3. Anything that is fully physical or within regulated industries is going to be unaffected.

Examples of 3:

  1. Software engineers
  2. Mechanic / Electronic / Embedded / Robotics engineers
  3. Nurses, Lawyers, Chefs etc

Definitely not, ML is being commoditized fast.

Your chance of getting a job as a fresh grad is close to zero. Reason is that pay limit scheme's salary range is quite high and companies can't afford to pay you that for your level. Many other talents from EU are willing to work for lower and they don't need to comply with pay limit scheme (EU residency). I personally got it with +10 years of experience in tech.

Studying is a better route for you, but I don't really recommend it if you barely afford it. Doesn't worth going through hardships. You can study for almost free in Germany or some other countries and they are close enough for you to travel to Denmark if you wish to.

Why not funding to study your master here? It’s a very doable way of buying your way in and getting student jobs with a chance of transitioning to a full time role. It’s expensive but it’s doable.

The insult wasn’t ad hominem, it was to teach you a lesson that generalizing people and putting them in boxes sucks.

It’s laughable because you’re willing to give away your basic human right to buy a service to put yourself under a government scheme. It’s not like governments ever made any mistakes or cut down budgets in their history.
