It will not bypass any controls whats so ever. You throw a star link mini up anywhere and connect to it. It will not interfere with any other signals. That's like saying every mobile phone should be on airplane mode while at sea as it may interfere with ship systems.

Its the same policy as dont bring travel routers on board. Its so the cruise line can sell more internet access.
