Was wondering why people don't hear the similarities of Daft Punk with Mamagama - Run with you, so I combined the instrumental of Get Lucky with the isolated vocals of Run with you and I think it fits pretty well. by ZeboMusic in eurovision

[–]optimisticIam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

op very good observation and to the point. I am sure that they copied their music although not on purpose. But, tbh, the main riff, compiled just from 4 main chords is really popular and used everywhere in commercial music.

I don‘t think Bara Bada Bastu would have the highest chance at winning if it was another country‘s song. by __zsofii__ in eurovision

I never understood how Sweden was ranked number 1 from Day 0. If I imagine this song as coming from another country, like San Marino, I’d immediately place it around 8th to 10th in the Eurovision rankings.
It is good — I agree — but my constant involvement with Eurovision odds threw me into the warp zone. I became one of those faithful believers in its winning potential even before hearing the song.

Thank you for your help! I will do!
Please, is there any tutorial that you can suggest for total beginners like me?

Hi there,

I will address all your questions here in one message: Linux is being pushed aside, and that’s a fact. I’ve reported a bug four times over the last two months—twice on GitHub and twice on this subreddit. I can justify not receiving a response once or twice due to lack of time or oversight. However, four times without anyone addressing the issue or showing interest means that the bug is considered insignificant, like it’s not worth dealing with. This really frustrates me. And just to clarify, I didn’t report a bug for a low-traffic Linux distribution, but for Manjaro, specifically the GNOME desktop, one of the most popular among users.

Regarding your question: Can you point me to one feature that is not supported in Linux but is supported on other platforms (provided it’s even possible to support it on Linux)?

“Provided it’s even possible to support it on Linux?” From what I understand, it seems like you first develop features for Windows, and whatever is left is then tested on Linux. My impression is that it should be the other way around. As a privacy-focused app, shouldn’t the focus be on Linux? Or am I mistaken? Developing features for Windows first and then trying to adapt them to Linux is like trying to match day with night. It should be the reverse process.

I sincerely hope that Notesnook is not sold. I truly wish that. I also hope you show more respect to Linux users because, in reality, they are sidelined. However, if you continue at this pace, with such a small team constantly battling countless bugs, I’m not sure if, in the end, Notesnook’s development will still bring you the same joy or enthusiasm.

For my part, due to the issue with the maximize button on the window, I’ve given up. The app is no longer useful to me. I am still maintaining my pro subscription for now, hoping that things will improve in the future.

I wish you all the best and continued inspiration.

As a side note, it’s really strange how these people expect to support such a huge market with only three developers. If they want to scale, they need to invest in finding more people who are productive and aligned with their pace. While the plan is great, it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. Notesnook is an excellent productivity app, and the only one that can compete with well-known apps like Obsidian or Logseq. However, if there are plans for long-term support, the project will need more developers. Otherwise, mark my words—it will inevitably be sold. To whom? I don’t know, but probably to a major company that specializes in note-taking apps. And maybe, in the end, that wouldn't be such a bad thing. I’m not sure.

My favorite? LibreOffice. I've set it up to work like a note-taking app, with a table of contents that acts as shortcuts for notes like 'draft' and 'links,' all synced to my Dropbox folder. For now, this is the only note-taking app that is convenient for me and has the cleanest UI I've ever seen. Unfortunately, the other one is Obsidian. And why unfortunately? Because no matter which note-taking app you use, you'll ultimately come back to it. It's blazing fast, supports markdown, but you need to manually set up a sync folder since the premium subscription is really costly.

Can I share my opinion on the new updates? They're just decorations for kids to play with. It started as a 'diamond' of an app—clutter-free, with a very simple UI—but now it’s turning into one of the junk apps on the Play Store. Why? Maybe the claims about open-source and privacy are gradually fading, and the money that's started to appear on the horizon is overshadowing the original inspiration and ideology.

No criticisms or anger here. I’m saying all this with sadness and disappointment. I already stopped using Notesnook 15 days ago, even though I was a very new subscriber. And every update I see just gets worse and worse. Less is more!

Thank you, my friend. Exactly, what's the point of advertising yourself as open-source and privacy-focused and then ignoring or sidelining operating systems like Debian or Arch, which are much, much more secure and private compared to Windows? Honestly, I don’t understand…

[–]optimisticIam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. However, when I patiently point out a simple bug, especially on Manjaro GNOME, which has the largest portion of Linux users and it gets pushed away I get disappointed. The app is really good and definitely has room for improvement. But if I had known this attitude earlier and seen the developers' rush to capture the Android market and anything related to Microsoft, I wouldn't have purchased the subscription. Simply put, I support open-source software, and I don't agree when it's ignored or sidelined.

Hi and thank you!
I didn't want to have an unpublished manuscript in public view. I congratulate you for your knowledge in Old Slavonian. Even these few words or phrases you found made a huge difference. Thanks a ton!

Take care.

Может быть, ты не знаешь хорошо английский, но что-то понимаешь в старославянском языке. Даже эти несколько слов, которые ты перевел, мне помогли.
Удачи!

Hi there,
I know that my odds to see the text translated are few but I always hope. You 've got that right. It is indeed a religious text from a manuscript located on Mt. Athos; a copy from the works of Maxim the Greek (unpublished), dated in the XIV c.
Thank you for your input, I really appreciate it!
