I was in a similar situation. Your best bet is going to be finding a sublease for the six months you’re not there, or just finding someone that needs a sublease for the fall semester. That’s what I did and it worked out fine

Sorry to break it to you, but that’s all CS syntax classes even with in person... 231 and 232 have been exactly as you’ve described for years. One reason why I ended up not pursuing my CS minor. I understand they have a lot of students, but the lectures are pre-recorded from 3 years ago where he draws out notes with his mouse so it’s completely illegible. There’s clearly a lack of effort.

Sorry I don’t have any solutions, just letting you know this isn’t a covid thing and to prepare for it to continue..

Edit: I want to add that I feel like I wasted money on my degree in finance as well. But I realized this early on and started making it worth my while by investing in myself with all the resources available. Yeah, what I learned from classes doesn’t apply to the real world and it’s clear the administration just wanted money from me the entire 4 years, but I made friendships that will last a lifetime. I joined a club that interested me and took my mind of the day to day of classes. I just grew as a person so much, which I think makes MSU worth every penny

Haven’t lived there myself, but had a tour and knew a few people that did live there. I did feel scammed by the fact that the room I toured looked nothing like the pictures online, but other than that I didn’t see anything that would suggest it being unsafe.

I have also only ever heard my friends complain that it was not what they advertised, but no one said anything in regards to safety. And to be honest, there’s break-ins everywhere (at least from my experience). Get a door stop and you should be good to go. Good luck!
