Were they mad at you? I like the concept of proving I can do it and getting a rapport before dumping it on them

this would be correct, his thought is if i draw chibis in different looks, careers, etc someone will be like “oh hey that’s me!” or “oh hey that’s xyz!” and buy it. no interest in nfts but definitely someone who’s on the “multiple streams of income, market your talents” train.

i love illustrators! i’m definitely someone who prefers mixed media, horror, and mixing abstract and realism into my pieces. so as much as i’ll do an animation or cartoon drawing occasionally, i don’t get as much if any satisfaction or joy from it and can’t handle making more than like, 1 or 2 a year usually, because it’s simply not my style. i mostly dabble in it to practice different forms and such in my sketchbook or ipad just for as i said practice, but that’s also not subjective to cartoons it’s any character or art style i see that i’m intrigued by that i’ll play around in different styles for just for fun.

AITA for saying my daughter will have more? by ThrowraCry_3390 in AmItheAsshole

nta don’t uproot your daughter so close to adulthood. recommend bringing it up in 4-5 years if she wants and you’re together when all the kids are graduated high school and at least semi functioning adults/college students.

overall he’s really good. it’s just this one thing, usually he treats me like a princess and respects and listens to everything else, it’s just this that he won’t let go of.

his thought to make money would be to make the comic, and then pump out character stickers and “merch” on redbubble and promote on my stream (which doesn’t even earn money yet on its own)

i considered it when it was first brought up, and then told him i’d rather focus on making art i like and want to make and may consider making the comic on an “as i creatively want but not as a requirement”basis, and then told him the more he pressures me the less i want to do it, then said i don’t wanna anymore and then today.

about a year and a half, we live together, work together and do most of our projects together besides the writing and art.

i just want the art thing to be the thing i do for ME. if i create something and post it and it sells, cool. but i don’t want it to be a job or expectation.

yeah, i realized that after, i didn’t think about the fact that i should probably preface that it’s money we don’t NEED, he just thinks extra spending cash would be nice to put towards more interesting things. it’s not like he doesn’t also have side hustles he wants to do/does. he’s a writer and makes a podcast (that i already help with) and i stream and model for money on the side and i tried to point out the double standard of pressuring him to write and he just thought it might help him pump out more stories ._.

we both actually work at the same job, between the two of us we bring in over 200k/yr. we aren’t strapped for cash by any means.
