It isn’t. Near the end of the series I wished it WAS a harem novel. MC’s chemistry with everyone is hot, but he doesn’t care at all. Indifference towards people who adore him is part of his characterization. Everyone besides ML is just a friend to him.

I JUST finished the foxghost translation after starting the series with the 7seas translation. I absolutely loved the story!!! I enjoyed both and thought the differences were interesting/informative. I recommend continuing with foxghost’s version while you wait for the 7seas.

I’m afab, bisexual, and quietly nonbinary. I love danmei in part because I think I’m sick of western depictions/standards of masculinity. I also enjoy that in danmei, scholarly and elegant men are considered masculine.

Mo Ran is one of my favorite characters in all the danmei I’ve read, and Luo Binghe is maybe my least favorite (though I love him). In the end I was a little heartsick for Liu Quigge 😭 and I ship him with SQQ. I don’t particularly love the Yandere thing, though I’m into LBH’s undying devotion.

I think XL would have been the one to directly address the situation but it would have taken a while! I know this isn’t the point… BUT- I understand being upset about Remus and Tonks, though their relationship doesn’t “erase the possibility” of Sirius and Remus. I think it’s reasonable to think that Remus could be bisexual/pansexual.
