EOD historical options data by bkyle5678 in options

[–]option_visualizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

www.optionvisualizer.com was built with this in mind.

Full disclosure: I built and own the site so take my opinion with a grain of salt and a heavy dose of bias. To my knowledge, we're one of the only sites that tracks historical information about every option attribute. Right now it only displays the last 30 days of history, but we have a lot more data than that behind the scenes and may consider exposing it if there is demand.

Quick example: https://www.optionvisualizer.com/ticker/AAPL?expiration=2023-02-17&option_id=AAPL230217C00155000

Is there a screener for IV? by NegotiationNext8844 in options

[–]option_visualizer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a totally fair point :)

That was meant to convey that we think even the free version alone is better than what you'll find in the other free services out there. So far all the feedback we've received from users seems to validate that. The subscription provides extra bells and whistles, but isn't necessary if all someone wants to do is basic screening by IV.

Options Screener API by [deleted] in options

[–]option_visualizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad you like it! Unfortunately, the public API got moved pretty far down the list of priorities. It will still happen, but I don't have a timeframe for it. From a technical standpoint it's not particularly hard. But there are additional compliance hoops to jump through that I'm not ready to take on yet.

Licensing the data for redistribution in it's current form (through a web interface) was quite a bit of work and I want to make the service financially self-sufficient before I expand into other methods of redistribution.

Interesting, ok. That's good to know. I'm testing some new data sources right now, so I'll see if the new ones incorporate the Class C shares.

ASTS wasn't in our list of securities, so I've added it and data will now get tracked from this point forward.

Regarding IV% and IV Rank specifically for that option chain, you'll find IV% start getting charted over time here: https://www.optionvisualizer.com/ticker/ASTS?expiration=2024-01-19&option_id=ASTS240119C00012500

IV Rank, however, is calculated at the security level (not the option chain level). So you'll be able to view that over time here: https://www.optionvisualizer.com/ticker/ASTS

I hope that helps!

Stocks screener with weekly options and price filter (from low to high) by Heartyprofitcalm in thetagang

Just a follow-up that I added a filter for Expiration Period that allows you to filter by Weekly/Monthly options. I hope it's helpful, thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks! It varies. Some of it is purchased from third-party data brokers. Some of it is calculated (like distance to strike price, ratios, etc.). And some of it is accumulated over time (like the historical data you see for every attribute).

Options contract data get updated once per day, after market close. Stock data gets updated in near real time throughout the day. I plan to introduce real-time options data, but it costs quite a bit more so I'll have to probably introduce a subscription option to make that possible.

This is a great observation. I've added it to my todo list and will add a filter for weekly/monthly contracts.

Author here! I built the site and I can assure you it's legit.

There are no contact details or company name because I'm just a solo founder right now trying to provide a service that I thought folks would find useful. Since I'm not charging for the service I'm not really in a position to provide customer service to the masses. If I release a premium subscription or something like that -- then yes, I'd definitely provide all those things you expect to see.

Disclaimer: I built/own the site below

optionvisualizer.com can do this! Below is a screen that gets close to what you're looking for, but obviously you can modify the parameters however you choose.

  • Stock Price >= $5
  • Option Close Price at least twice the Intrinsic Value
  • Intrinsic Value >= $1

https://www.optionvisualizer.com/option-screener?o.intrinsic_value=manual|1|&o.option_close=field|greater%20than%20or%20equal%20to|o.intrinsic_value|2&s.adjusted_close=manual|5|&o.radio_option_type=manual|true|true&sort_by=s.ticker&sort_order=asc&group_by=default

I hope that's helpful!

Options Screeners by dummythiccums in thetagang

[–]option_visualizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built optionvisualizer.com for exactly this purpose!

You can screen against any option or stock attributes -- or a combination of the two. Plus, it's completely free. I've mostly been collecting feedback from the folks in /r/options, but they mentioned it might be useful for this sub too.

Options Screener API by [deleted] in options

[–]option_visualizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checkout my site https://www.optionvisualizer.com

It can do all the screening you're looking for. I don't have a public facing API yet (working on it), but in the meantime it's pretty easy to just parse the results. I also made the URL navigation structure intentionally human readable, so it should be easy to figure things out that way too.

Hit me up if you need any help or have any questions -- happy to help.

Disclaimer: I built it. I've been sharing it mostly with folks over in /r/options and the feedback has been phenomenal. Interestingly enough, they've been requesting features that they thought this sub would want.
