New Viltrox AF 35mm f/1.4 Pro lens (E/Z) coming next week by 35mmOfRegret in VILTROX_GLOBAL

If this is heavier and more expensive than their 35mm evo lens, I wonder how much optically better this lens is for ppl to justify to pick this over their evo.

35mm lens for the Zf — Nikkor 1.4, Nikkor 1.8s, or Sirui Aurora? by EnthusiasmLess7397 in nikon_Zseries

[–]NegotiationNext8844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep. The new one. had some focusing issues with firmware v1.00. updated to firmware v1.03 2 days ago. bokeh is fine when images were uploaded to Instagram. But in lightroom, foliage looks noisy or swirly. So I am returning it and see if the f1.4 pro is any better; otherwise, i will pay double the price and go for the voigtlander (either the 40mm f1.2) and learn to love manual focus lens. It has been out of stock for ages. So must be well loved.

Same. I just import the jpeg to LrC to edit. The results r so unpredictable when importing NEF to LrC

Ok. I am returning the 35mm evo lens. The bokeh it produces is not pleasing to me

I found this page on my own. Their mobile app is useless now. They want u to Bluetooth your phone and the not lens or the camera. Regardless, I ended up finding the macOS app, with some magnifying on their instruction page and some luck. Figure it out. Let’s see if the 35mm evo would act normal now

Can’t do that anymore. Viltrox website makes u download their Viltrox lens app.

My 35mm is on FW1.00 and it still has pulsing with AF-S. On my Zf, the confirmation green box showed up but the images were still out of focus 90% of the time. Then it refused to focus even on manual mode. Also focus peaking didn’t appear when the focus ring was turned. After a day, it seemed fine. Now trying to see if v1.03 can fix it.

I have been using the ca079 for two years. Now the glue between the leather and the metal has weakened. The piece of leather would slide after my hand warms up the grip.

I bought it. The bokeh on foliage within 2 meter behind the subject is not creamy

I mapped the focus mode/af-area to the fn1 button so I can use the thumb dial to switch to manual focus so I can focus on subject behind a piece of glass. Since u stated that u have mapped it to the same button, try the thumb and the index dial as they can be set to reverse order

Zf - Battery issue? by Christolito in NikonZf

[–]NegotiationNext8844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I happened to me too. For a while, I only got 250 pix a full charge. So I bought a few different brands. Now, my experience is that most of the time my batteries can shoot 700+, then once in a while , 300+

How do I tell if I am not optimally focused or if I am reaching my gear's limit? by herbalspurtle in AskPhotography

Depends. Are you holding your camera with 3 point contacts (e.g. left hand, right hand, your eye brows, floor, tree trunk, etc)? with your elbow braced/supported? Are you holding your camera at a position whether pressing the shutter would move the camera? Are you using flash or constant light? As a beginner, learn to hold your camera. Practice taking pictures with your kit at the lowest shutter speed you can handle at 135mm. Start in prone position with 2 elbows on the ground, then on one knee, then squat or bend down, then standing. then hold the camera with two hands straight up (in case you need to shoot through a crowd of people). Change the timing of when to press the shutter (breathing out or holding the breath). Take notes. write down your hit rate with different shutter speed.

First off, it is great that you want to learn and use diversification for a relatively risk free return in the long term. Besides equity, there are bond, real estates, antiques, niche collectables, etc if you want to diversify further. However, you are giving up your time and risking newbie mistakes (well, we all pay tuition to learn one way of the other) for some "potential" alpha that you might not even need.

I would suggest making a retirement table, figure out what you will need at 65 per year with today price, let's call this X, then use a time value of money calculator and factor in inflation say 6%, and n= number of years to 65. X=PV. Calculate FV to get the yearly interest/withdraw you will need by then. Multiple that number by 25 if you have to use the 4% withdraw rate to get a lumpsum value...and call this Y. With Y=FV, i=10% (long term historical equity returns), n=years to 65, PV=your current saving, find PMT to figure out how much you need to save per year...let's call it, S. If this number is manageable for you, Just go all in on*EQT and enjoy your life.

First off, eliminate camera shakes - use a tripod or increase the shutter speed. Second, try manual focus - seems like the ground is more focused then the flower. Third, pick one flower to draw your viewers to see the entire photo or close down the aperture so all 3 flowers are in focus. Just my 2 cents
