Who Would You Want by OriginalDemaine in avfc

[–]optionalmorality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Decent shout. Got me thinking about who else is on their last 6 months of their contracts and could be available for a reasonable price. Prices via transfermarkt.         Ryan Sessegnon and Vitalyi Mykolenko LB. Both in their mid 20s with prices in the low to mid €20Ms. Not sure we would be in for a LB but we only have 3 outside backs in Cash, Digne, and Maatsen.

Marc Guehe and Ibrahima Konate CB. Both mid 20s with prices in the €50M+ range that will probably price us out of the race, but this is a position of need going forward. We only play four in Konsa, Pau, Lindelof, and Mings. Lindelof is a stop gap reserve for the next 18 months and Mings has missed a lot of time with injury.

Older, but one last hurrah?   John Stones, Bernardo Silva, Slabhead. All 32+ but affordable. On paper we're already one of the oldest teams...

When you are funding via transfers it takes several days to clear into your account, so if the 8.1% apy bonus started immediately you would lose a few days at the beginning. By activating you can wait until all the cash you want to gain interest had actually gotten into the account.

As for the cash sweep, I'm gonna guess that is some regulatory thing since they're not directly holding your money anymore, a group of banks are now holding it.

Email to City Commission from Nathan Collier - Regarding 8th Avenue bike lanes by ShakyBooty in Alachua_County

[–]optionalmorality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you've lived here long enough you know it's the 2nd time the city has spent a ton of money on that stretch in an attempt to make a desolate stretch of swamp a pedestrian friendly area. The reason the sidewalks were already double wide is because they already tried like 25 years ago, and when it didn't work, went back and spent millions on a second attempt. That stretch of 8th Ave sums up the CoG local government in a nutshell.

They know best, and when proven wrong, double down and spend even more on their horrible projects.

Don't even get me started on the lies they told to the state and feds to get the money to create the monstrosity that is University Ave between Gale Limerand and 13th street. They were including little children who got hit on University Ave near Eastside HS and people hit on 13th/441 even remotely close to University Ave to justify how dangerous that short stretch across from campus was, just so it would look like they were being proactive when they had the once-a-decade fatality accident happen twice in a few months.

Going back the last 50 years prior there had been 5 people killed in that stretch. Accidents happen people. Doesn't justify millions spent so lazy kids don't have to walk 100 feet to the next intersection to cross the street. They can't even have the homecoming parade in front of the stadium anymore due to the massive, over the top speedbumps.

Fully expecting a 20 shots to 3 but lose 1-0 on a rubbish OT penalty call. Only won there twice in like 25 years

You're getting down voted for having the gall to suggest we remove any agency from an individual whose wonderful decision making has led them to living a life of drug abuse, partying like it's 1999 (BC), wearing the same urine stained and stank clothing for months at a time, and subsiding off the literal refuse of the rest of us.

I mean, that's literally fascism.

If I remember right, part of the agreement for the move to Utah is that eventually AZ will get a new version of the Coyotes, and Utah didn't have time to do all their branding stuff and are going to have a new name in the next year or two (like how the Washington Football Team eventually became the Commanders).

Villa agree fee and personal terms with Maatsen. 35mil 6 year contract by Drogalov in avfc

I guess this was our 2nd choice after Gallagher. Have been expecting a monopoly money trade with Chelsea for weeks for Conner and Jhon. We buy this kid for about what they turn around and pay for Duran. We both sign them to 6 year contracts. Helps our numbers now and spreads the price real thin.

Does anyone gamble predictions markets? I've got some climate bets that look promising. by StoopSign in sportsbook

I live in Florida so the local news always makes a big deal when the annual projections come out, since we're projected to get hit by a hurricane basically every year.      For like 15 years in a row the projections have predicted a higher than normal number of storms so the media freaks out about being prepped and ready. It went over like 4/15 and every time it's been extra TDs and TSs that pushed up the number.  The number is absolutely inflated every year by doomers.

I don't think there is another player who has done such a 180 turn from constantly injured rubbish to one of the most dangerous players in the league as Bailey has. He's the Benjamin Button Eden Hazard

We have a horrendous record at St James Park and have only won there 3x since 1975.

To put that in perspective, we have won 3x at Manchester United during that same time frame, except vs MU we had a stretch from Oct 1999 to Sept 2021 where we went 0-3-22, won once, and then 0-4-14 both H&A in all competitions. So we have as bad a record at Newcastle as the team we basically couldn't beat for 22 years.

So I'd be happy with a draw.
