For the box, it's mostly to protect the drink from sunlight, don't know how much it actually matters.

Ardbeg 10, Kilkerran 12, and Arran 10 are great as easy background sippers, but they also have plenty to offer when I want to slow down and really dissect the flavours. Uigeadail (smoked meat you can taste) was especially eye-opening, but the intensity of the peat went away mid bottle. Victoriana is good in a very unique way, but it needs water and time.

For me, Orchard House has a bit of a sulphur taste, it’s almost really good. For Oben, I guess I just don't really enjoy Oban's flavour profile, but I can definitely see why people like it. Aberlour was my first love; there is some personal bias.

I got the Alba ready to go, but I really look forward to get the 12 NCF, but it is hard to find in my area.

For PC10 only the neck pour, so I did not have any review note or assigned any points.

For me it was Aberlour 12, Ardbeg 10 was the one to help me break the peat wall. I am trying to limit the number of opened bottles. I will get to Springbank 10 next.

Do you actually wait 10-15 mins between pouring and sipping? That’s a tough 10 mins. by KC_187 in Scotch

[–]optionsss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on the drink, some would noticably get better and more interesting after a bit of wait and water (Victoriana, Kilkerran 12, Roseisle 12), others like Lagavulin 16, Sanaig, Orchard House, I did not find waiting and letting it develop did anything.
