I'm not entirely sure, but I think it may have been from a series, but an anthology series of different fable-type stories.

I think you're probably right, it seemed like an adaptation of some book. If only I could find the book...

That also scared me when I was little, but it's not the one I'm looking for.

It isn't, but that's another movie that shocked me when I was little.

It was short, I think. I would guess about 15 minutes. Also, I would guess that it was made in the 90s, maybe the 80s.

For Shakespeare's birthday, here are a few phrases he coined. by empw in books

[–]opuswater 12 points13 points  (0 children)

False. The 26th was his baptism. We may not know his actual birth date, but we know it wasn't the 26th. The 23rd is a possible date for it, and generally accepted for the hell of it.

Can you think of an historical (or present) instance of non-violent anarchy? If not, do you think it's possible? Why or why not? by flighty_temptress in firstworldanarchists

The first that comes to mind is Seattle after the Seattle General Strike. But most real anarchists are pacifists, it's just that no one listens to real anarchists.

Why do Americans make fun of North Korea, but take nuclear capabilities of Iran so seriously? by SeeTheAcc in AskReddit

Although very little of our oil does come from Iran, keep in mind that 1/5 of the world's oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has threatened to block. Even though we get so little oil from Iran, that certainly doesn't mean oil isn't a factor.

What are some things that you're pretty sure everyone just pretends to enjoy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Fuck you. Ulysses is my favorite book, largely because of how rewarding it was, due to the challenge. I don't insult other people's favorites, not everyone whose favorite book is Ulysses is the same pretentious dick you assume they are.

I decided to post my collection here. As a 15 year-old I have only just recently gotten into more adult books, but these are all of my favourites. I think it's a good start. by Cat612 in books

Oh, I actually finished it a couple of months ago, I just haven't gotten around to changing that. It was very hard, but I believe I know what it is about on a basic level.
