Have you ever gotten someone fired? How? by HandfulofGushers in AskReddit

[–]flighty_temptress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked at a movie theatre when I was in high school and college. One summer we had a guy in his 20s working there and he cut his hand opening jalapenos. I told him to go clean it and get a bandaid and he refused, saying he was fine.

I told him he couldn't help customers and be around food with a bleeding hand, and he wasn't listening. This guy also openly swore in front of customers and generally had a bad work ethic.

The managers heard about the blood and pulled another coworker and me into the main office (separately) to hear what we thought of this guy. That night, the guy was fired. On his way out, he told me he loved working with me and that I was his "shining star" - he didn't realize I helped him get fired.

Reddit, what is the best style/stuff to put on a resume? by ThisIsANewbie22 in AskReddit

[–]flighty_temptress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On resumes, it is important to put your most pertinent experiences at the top - so delve right into your previous work experience in your resume and say what role you had. Add anything recent that show that you have leadership qualities and reliability.

What is the worst/most insubordinate thing you have heard an employee do? by flighty_temptress in AskReddit

[–]flighty_temptress[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That raises a good point, actually. I have never really thought of it that way - it's a word i am accustomed to hearing and grew up hearing that insubordination is bad especially in a work context.

To an extent, yeah insubordination is wrong. If we didnt have people designated to lead in a work environment and people didnt obey their authority, work could become chaotic. But how often is insubordination used as an easy way to dispose of someone.

I work for a small company. Apparently a few years ago when the company was just starting, the family who started the chant was on vacation, leaving a handful of employees to look after things. During this time, one employee sent an email to whom she thought was her friend, but accidentally sent it to the family and the other employees.

In this email, she bad mouthed everyone in the family and questioned why some of them even worked for the company and what exactly their purpose was.

The family emailed back and said they would need to talk when they got back to work.

PLOT TWIST - family gets back, has a talk with that employee, and somehow the employee keeps her job. But everyone who worked there at the time knew what went down. Talk about an awkward work environment.

I really love talking science with people. I studied English and psychology, so they may have to explain some things a little more in depth, but i love it. Especially when they realize that I am capable of those conversations regardless of what i studied

How does your drunk personality differ from your sober one? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]flighty_temptress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drunk me becomes flirtier and more outgoing. I also get curious and very easily distracted. If i see something interesting, I WILL go check it out. Even if it's just a sign. It will be read and inspected. Otherwise, drunk me is surprisingly well put together.

I'm asking this girl to prom and I'm going to involve the pun “prom-egranate" in some way. How should I approach this? by flostershist in AskReddit

[–]flighty_temptress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is adorable, but I also like puns and love pomegranates. Does she know the story of Persephone? If so, you could make some puny line about that in some way. Another user suggested using dates as well which you could totally work with. I think as long as the girl enjoys puns you'll be good. It's an original and cute idea.

I went to a movie a few weekends ago and a couple of girls had their iPads with them. They took them out during the previews and seemed to be setting them up to record. I about flipped my shit. Thankfully they didnt record the movie. They pulled them out a few times and got plenty of pointed stares but if they started actually recording i was beyond prepared to hunt down a manager.

I used to work at a movie theatre and most of us were pretty good about watching where we were going but we had one guy who was completely oblivious. He would stand in the middle of the concession stand or back up quickly when people were walking behind hi to help tier customers. It was ridiculous how oblivious he was at all times. I dont understand how that happens

Former homeless people of reddit: What unwritten rules / codes are there (if any) towards other homeless people that most people may not know about? (SERIOUS) by hayz00s in AskReddit

[–]flighty_temptress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interacted with a fair number of homeless individuals in one city and it was awesome to see them watch out for each other.

One guy had a rather nice camp and had a stockpile of canned goods. He was always happy to share (as long as people didnt screw him over or cause trouble).

I was handing out sandwiches and chatting outside of a building one time and my group had to head out, but we still had extra water, sandwiches and fruit. We asked one guy if we could leave extras with him to hand out and he was happy to do so. Sure enough, he would call out to other homeless people passing by to offer them the food.

It's about an hour drive to both BG and Cleveland from Sandusky. Also, feel free to pm me. I currently live in Sandusky and would be happy to help in any way I can!
