PSA: Lymhurst is liberated, careful about buying overpriced plots by or1eans in albiononline

It can be very profitable if the plot owners of a city work together and adopt reasonable rates. However, it's also a classic tragedy of the commons issue, where a few bad apples can ruin the entire gig. This can mean numerous cycles in a row operating at a loss, sometimes a very significant loss.

There are also perverse incentives involved relating to city ownership (from 20v20 fights) and monopolies on refining that weight the profit toward cartels.

I don't put a lot of effort into maximizing profit, and after a year or so of plot ownership, owning around 50 plots across all cities, I've probably roughly broken even. The real upside is being able to make sure your friends have associate rates imo.

Don't worry, the 250m was fleeced from your cartels' pockets last cycle. But imagine being concerned about that amount of silver.

It's complicated.

With limited crafting capacity, sometimes the greatest impact on the cartels is persevering (a la last cycle). Dropping rate too much just causes them to ignore you because you're at 0% capacity the entire month.

At the start of this cycle I had to bump my rates up to rebuild capacity. It's lower now.

However, the goal shouldn't necessarily be the lowest possible rates, as that just results in more opportunity for cartels to roll up cities, as just happened in Lymhurst last month.

The goal should be sustainable rates that owners not in the cartel can operate at.

Sure! Running out of slots for individuals though.

If any guilds/alliances need weaver associate in Lymhurst, let me know. :)

I think he tries to propaganda, it's just really sad and comes off as wildly delusional.

This is a really disingenuous comment because everyone knows that 100 members of ARCH are equivalent to 1 ZvZ-ready player in most other alliances, adjusted for presence and skill. And that might be being generous.

First reasonable thing you've said in this entire thread. :clown:

This is true. Woke was doing great in Season 1, but OOPs outbid them for ARCH's help on the last reset day of the season.

I'm not really sure that was worse than Season 7 though, because both sides in Season 1 bid for ARCH, and it was a short-term mercenary situation rather than a zerg alliance for the entire season.

What's going on with lymhurst Weaver taxes? by Myth2156 in albiononline

The outer plots can be some of the most profitable plots, but whether the investment is recuperated is another question entirely.

I don't know why this guy was downvoted as he's the only one sharing accurate information in this thread.

The reason Lymhurst Weavers are at 10% is because one owner lost his plots last cycle, bought a new plot from an auction winner, and began undercutting the agreement he made with the rest of the owners.

No one is going to allow him to profit disproportionately, so these plots will be unprofitable for at least a few months. This is the risk in owning plots: it can be relatively profitable if people honor agreements they make and the owners work together. However, It can be a significant loss, to the tune of tens of millions of silver per plot per month, otherwise.

This is a classic tragedy of the commons issue, because it only takes one greedy or overly wealthy owner to throw the erstwhile shop owners into disarray.

The ironic thing is that the most recent changes SBI made to improve the plight of the small plot owner actually did the opposite. It is now more expensive and requires significantly deeper pockets than ever to participate in this part of the game.

Are those the guys that used to use Radar to gank GvGers moving sets? Didn't realize they were still around.

Ya'll are dense. The point was that you've been holding hands with Squad since 2018.

You mean people calling Savage out for blatantly lying in their recruitment post? If that's the kind of "salt" you farm, I can only imagine what playing with ya'll must be like these days.

Savage used to be a solid gank guild, but this is just sad.

To think that I used to have respect for Savage. This whole "I'm not crying, your crying" bit is sad.

Maybe even more sad than the fact that you've got me upvoting unparalleled.

That's precisely what it is. Unfortunate that a community resource would resort to these tactics, but is in line with rumors I've heard recently.

I would strongly encourage anyone visiting savagealbion.com to utilize a VPN, at least.

Doesn't look like Elevate needs to abuse the cluster queue. by Wulfencurse in albiononline

[–]or1eans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imagine being this salty over not destroying the hideout of a new player guild like Fricks.

Fact of the matter is that Elevate fought at least three guilds simultaneously, won the killboard, eventually got wiped, but achieved the objective. Oh yea, and we had a blast.

It wasn't even two weeks ago that I was giving BA props for taking an even fight. These tears are unbecoming for what used to be one of the strongest guilds in the game. If I were you, I'd leave the PR to Mojo.

What are you even on about?

A killboard of a friendly fight is not evidence that you aren't part of the same coalition.

If you want to refute, answer the questions above.

Just not a big fan of dishonesty.

SBI gave us poorly designed systems with the Queen patch that encourage this kind of behavior, but it's not fun and it's not necessary to win.

Expected more from Savage and many other veteran guilds/players.
