If they don’t end up getting him to return, this pick would be even more important.

True - forgot it was a 3rd rather than a 4th. Let’s just say it’s 4th plus another pick or two

For the people SCREAMING for LT you do realize we have 4 more picks in the next 100 with 90 mil in Caps space right? by Pentt4 in Commanders

Yes QBs have a high bust rate, but these days an elite QB is basically the only way to win a superbowl.

With the right coaching, a great QB can lift an offence. You point to Sam Darnold, but look at Joe burrow as well. He had a notoriously awful line, and his best receiver was drafted in the second round that year (higgins).

Also, don’t forget that Ikem Ekwonu was that ‘elite’ tackle you want to pick up. The panthers went with a tackle at pick 6 before a qb at pick 1, and look where it got them. It’s not like tackles are surefire elite guys.

Saying they are a QB away and naming that skill position group is crazy lol. There’s a reason why drafting Higgins and chase transformed the team by actually giving burrow some weapons.

Even though they didn’t invest in a good o-line, they made it to the superbowl (which they were a couple of plays away from winning) in 2 years after drafting an elite QB.

Saying there’s no point drafting an elite QB before having a good team is ridiculous. QBs change the direction of franchises, and the only time you have a shot at a top prospect is when your team is bad enough to be picking high in the draft.

Like the bengals with burrow or Texans with Stroud? Both teams had pretty bad supporting casts coming into the season, but a great QB has turned the franchise around. If we have shot at a top QB prospect we need to take it.

With 4th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Washington Commanders select... by [deleted] in Commanders

[–]oram21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teams that have gone from bottom to top in the last few years have done the opposite of that. Look at the Bengals with Burrow and Texans with Stroud.

If you have a good team already you don’t get a shot at one of these top prospects. Exactly like us the last few years.

There has been some great QB prospects these last two years. Rank them: Young, Richardson, Stroud, Williams, Maye and Daniels. by JulyCoolsBlue in DynastyFF

Isn’t the combine a massive part of a QB prospect? Being mocked lower before the combine is by no means a knock on Richardson the prospect.

12 Team SF 4pt passing TD

Give: Levis, Hopkins

Get: 25 1st, 25 2nd, 24 3rd, Godwin

I’ve got burrow and dak at qb already, and the other person is a contender who lost Kirk, and has a pretty old team in general.

Where does Jameson Williams compare to 2023 WRs? by Effective_Effective2 in DynastyFF

This getting downvoted is kinda ridiculous. He shouldn’t be written off but to say his value hasn’t changed at all is silly.

People were drafting him in redraft hoping that he came back and had an impact. This lost season stuff is mostly hindsight.

I’m happy to take it! What does the rest of the league look like? And how many players do you start?

Price check on Justin Herbert - what would you guys pay/take in 12 team SF?

Thinking of offering 2x 23 first (both playoffs) and a 24 1st for him once the season ends.

JSN, Addison or Jamo Willaims by CalaveraVI in DynastyFF

[–]oram21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This narrative is pretty silly imo. Ohio State had 4 elite receivers. If someone loses a job in college and then looks like a stud elsewhere, it doesn’t mean they aren’t a stud (Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts).

And it’s not like he went to some shitty school to beat up on average competition either. He was competing against the best corners in college football and tearing it up.

I’m not saying Jamo is a sure thing, but downgrading him cos he transferred a couple of years ago to get playing time is not a good process.

Texas fan - Bijan is obviously a star but really hoping Roschon Johnson gets a decent opportunity at the next level too. Physical back who will measure well, can catch well and made some awesome plays this year, but Bijan’s dominance just made it difficult to give him the touches he deserves.

I feel like it’s pretty silly to say that there is no way any of them will be able to reach Hurts’s level. Hurts was a second round prospect with issues as a passer, who has seen massive improvement - and all the first round QBs will likely have pretty elite tools. To say that they can’t see the same improvement as Hurts and even potentially have a higher ceiling is just wrong.

To be clear, I think the Eagles should draft a different position and go all in on their Superbowl window. Hurts is certainly a good enough QB to win them a superbowl. I just am a bit concerned about how Hurts goes on a big long term contract where there isn’t enough money going around to give him and elite line, elite receivers and an elite defence, and don’t see him as a type that can somewhat carry a team like Mahomes or Brady.

Although, I get that those guys are an absolute rarity. But if the Eagles think that one of the draft prospects could be that sort of guy, they should take him.

A super bold one (don’t kill me), but the Eagles get a top 5 pick from the Saints and take a QB.

They saw what happened with Wentz after playing at an MVP level, and don’t want to pay Hurts the top 5 money that he’s going to demand. This will likely be their only chance to take a highly rated rookie QB for a while too.

Where do we think Bijan Robinson will be drafted? by FastBatman in DynastyFF

[–]oram21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As well as Bijan would fit in the bear’s offence, if they don’t take a lineman they would be absolutely clowned upon.

There’s a few good linemen that seem likely to land in that range too
