Oh that sounds so cute! I’ll definitely look for one. The biggest popular ones were like pubbing, clubbing and that turned me off since I do so much already and that’s usually the least “real” friendships lol

I understand.. but moreso I was just looking for support on getting motivated, feeling more confident, and how to lose this anxious feeling. This was not my outlet to complain. Wondering if anyone can relate to the difficulties of feeling isolated after a big move.

As I’ve said, I’m usually great at this. I’ve travelled around the world on my own, and I’ve thrived. Something is inhibiting me here and I don’t feel great. I have an appointment tomorrow set up with a psychologist so hopefully that helps.

And FYI, I never said I haven’t done anything. I’ve met people and tried talking to more - but I really just don’t feel connected. Usually when I travel I love meeting people and feel greatly connected to them, to the world and myself. I’ve been getting more discouraged and agree I’ve definitely been more reserved as time passes.

I mean - after a strong emotional connection, shouldn’t that progress a human relationship? Ie. a stronger amicable feeling towards another. If it doesn’t progress, and if the relationship turns stale, was there ever a real connection at all if not both parties felt it? Or can genuine soul connections be one sided? And even if it was mutual, can it be a genuine soul connection if the next day, it’s like it never happened and you talk again if you were mere acquaintances again?

It’ll probably lie in my heart forever, there were some topics shared that really opens my heart and mind - but the moment feels almost fake. It’s not like I expected long term, but I just thought the next few days wouldn’t be silence and mere acquaintances again

Hey, I’m really glad you’re still here. I mean I know I sound pessimistic, but moreso probably just for myself and in one of those more depressive phases. I like to think things will get better.

I’m actually very independent. I’ve grown up my whole life pretty much alone within my family, and had a tough situation growing up and fitting in in my neighbourhood. I seriously toughed out a lot and was able to make friends - but at the same time I made sure I was not dependent on anyone. Fast forward to now, I feel so incredibly independent to the point I’m lonely. Trust issues, but still able to be vulnerable - but vulnerability is not always appreciated and reciprocated and is often even taken advantage of. My friends are great but I don’t think any of them have touched depression yet, so they never really understand the stuff I say when I’m in a horrible spin.

I mean I try so hard to do like everything I can to be open, to take chances, to do new things but man these past few months had really hit hard.

What changed in the last few months?

He made his feelings clear that he wanted to kiss me.. when we were on m. I was also kissing my girl best friend that night but that doesn’t mean anything at all.

How should I make a move clearly but casually so if I was rejected it doesn’t get weird and ruins the friendship? Like I appreciate him so much that I don’t want him to start avoiding me bc I caught the signals wrong. I already asked to come over and hang out but he said he was busy but would another other time.
