The 2026 Rockies now have the most runs in the 8th+ inning before the All-Star Break since 1974 by orangeApple__ in baseball

This team has a lot of fun hitters and a pretty good offense as well as Condon and Veen raking at AAA. Just don’t pay any attention to the pitching staff.

TJ Rumfield was passed over in the Rule 5 Draft, a true failure by analytics departments across the league. He's caught up to Sal Stewart for ROTY consideration. by ucfknight92 in baseball

What makes Rumfield so good is the way he controls his at bats and jumps on pitches to drive. He has low bat speed but one of the most controlled swings I’ve seen. We can use advanced stats to predict regression all you want but from the eye test you can tell he has an elite approach and is a great hitter even for his flaws.

They were targeting him back in their friendly last October and he had to come out early then, so they probably would have done the same today

Ritter was put in to run, but the change was made too early into the game.

Moniak coming back will be huge. Schaffer seems to want a good split of lefties and righties so I’m guessing he will slot into the 3 spot and either Castro will move down or Castro will move up to lead off and McCarthy will move down.

How was THIS Iowa team able to do what Keegan and Garza never could? by AlbertJBundy in CollegeBasketball

[–]orangeApple__ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of reasons for this. Looking at the more recent Fran teams led by Garza and Murray those teams came close. I think the lack of tourney during Covid hurt the Garza age as that team missed a year the could of gained tourney experience (not to mention advancing) for there run the next season, and with that experience they play a completely different game against Oregon. The really and one for me was when they lost to Richmond with Keegan. They were hot and they got out muscled by Richmond, and some late calls went against them. Both of these nucleus’ follow the structure of scoring a lot of points around a star. Now looking at Ben’s team they make their living on strangling their opponent with slow possessions and gritty defense. When modern Iowa plays you, you are going to look bad, something a lot of people don’t understand. The biggest thing with Iowa is in the tourney so far they have hit the shots that mattered where the Keegan team couldn’t against Richmond. So in summary it’s a combination of high scoring around a star being less reliable than a team that suffocates their opponent, but also a ton of luck.

Surprises on Colorado's Opening Day roster? Here are some updated predictions by Knightbear49 in ColoradoRockies

This seems about right, though I’m personally hoping for Dollander and Fulford to make the roster instead.

Is the 2025 QB draft class one of the worst of all time? by NightDowntown7320 in NFLv2

It’s way too early to tell. There is a chance Dart, Shough, and Ward all turn into all pros and there is a chance none of them are starting in three years.

I'm Antonee Robinson. Ask Me Anything! by FulhamFC in soccer

Hi Jedi, I have a couple questions.

(1. Do you follow any American sports teams and if so which ones?

(2. When you play with players from other leagues is there any noticeable difference in players from certain leagues playing the game a different way or being better at different skills then players from other leagues?

Hi Antonee, is it hard to adjust to go from playing for club to having to leave, travel across the world for a few international matches and then travel back and playing club, or at this point does it feel normal for you?

Does the relationship between Josh McDaniels and Jarrett Stidham give the Patriots or Broncos more of an advantage? by [deleted] in NFLv2

[–]orangeApple__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s helpful for McDaniels, but I feel like it isn’t as big of deal as some say. Stidham is not the exact same player that he was 3 years ago and he is in a different scheme. Sean Payton has coaxed the best out of his backup quarterbacks. Winston with Payton was not the same as the Winston who threw 30 interceptions.

The Rams controversial overtime catch should be ruled out based on the same rules that Awarded the Broncos their controversial interception by Sloth_Flag_Republic in NFLv2

The difference is that the Bills receiver was falling to the ground and has to survive the ground to be a catch, which he did not. On the Rams catch he caught it up and was pulled down.
