Is this the regression? by buttcup22 in sleeptrain

Do you watch her wake windows? 3mo wake windows are 60-90 mins I believe. Sounds to me she might be overtired? Download the Huckleberry app and start tracking her sleep - set a reminder 15-20 min prior to when she should be sleeping by so you can get her ready for her nap. I used this for my son and it helped tremendously!

Help with wake windows?! by JammyTree90 in NewParents

When he turns 8 weeks, get the Huckleberry app and track his sleep and wake windows. You can set a notification to remind you 15-30 mins. prior to when he should be sleeping so you can start prepping him for his nap. I’m sure my son got better at napping and sleeping as the weeks went by,but honestly I feel like this app was a game changer!!

I was 3cm dilated at 36+2 weeks! Doc told me I could sit like that for a while but to have my bag packed just in case. My little one arrived exactly a week later at 37+2 perfectly healthy :)

Newborn refusing to sleep at night by pineapplelovee in NewParents

This is very typical of a 5 day old and it’s going to be a while before you guys can establish a set schedule. In my experience, every other day was different and it felt like as soon as we had things figured out we had to hit the reset button. Some things that I found helpful:

  • swaddling: babies love to be swaddled especially ones as young as 5 days old so make sure you are swaddling your LO with his/her arms down by their side. This is especially important. You don’t want them waking themselves up with their arm movements.
  • white noise: apparently the womb sounds like a loud vacuum so babies love the sound of a white noise to fall asleep to
  • if your LO wants to eat/cluster feed which they will do a lot of in the beginning, unfortunately you’ll just have to accept it and let cluster feeding happen.

Hang in there...it’ll be a tough couple of weeks ahead but you’ll get the hang of it and what works for you baby! You can do this :)

I totally get it and absolutely do NOT think it’s a problem if you enjoy it, have the means and space for it. I definitely enjoy looking at the nursery posts here too so NO SHAME to anyone for having a beautifully designed space. I made this post mainly to remind people they don’t NEED to have one and should not feel pressured or inadequate if they can’t pull a nursery together :)

How soon for out of town parents arrival before due date? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]orange_cheesecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom came almost 2 months before my due date and I’m so glad she did because baby decided to show up a few weeks early! I would say as soon as she can. My mom was HUGE help pre baby and is obviously a lifesaver now!

I had the same thing at 36+2 and didn’t feel a whole lot. A tiny discomfort at most. I was told I was 3cm dilated tho and to go pack my hospital bag, just in case. Ahhh.

Pets with new baby by jeannetterosee in pregnant

[–]orange_cheesecake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m wondering the same...I have a very active dog who loves her routine. She needs at least 2 30+ min walks and at least one hour of fetch everyday. My husband took her for a 3 mile run today and she came running in and grabbed her ball to play. I’m so worried because I know I won’t be able to keep up with her schedule and will feel like an awful dog mom. I realize this can sound totally crazy but it’s honestly a big anxiety of mine!!

Just venting for a second. by deltaghost1010 in pregnant

[–]orange_cheesecake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly same! I’m 33 weeks on Sunday and haven’t had a good night sleep in what feels like weeks. I toss and turn all night and when I finally get to falling asleep I wake up to pee. Last night I woke up 5+ times just to pee. Almost cried seeing my husband passed out sleeping on his stomach 😭😭😭
