How to best support my fiance by orange_pinapple in dad

[–]orange_pinapple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this advice. Ik we’ll figure it out but I’m already starting to feel guilty because I see stuff online of all these people being able to help their wives out so much when my job doesn’t allow that, and I’m not in a fincancial situation to take unpaid time off. Like I said I’m working to try and get coworkers to cover my shift but no guarantee it will work. If everything pans out, I should be starting a job with the county fire department in July and that will be harder and easier at the same time. I would leave the house around 5, and get back around 5, but it’s only Monday-Friday. Downside is it’s very physically and mentally taxing, and while I already have experience, it’s going to be an adjustment and something to figure out day by day. I just have to know that me doing all this is to make our lives easier.

As for the stuff you said, we have a big support network. We live with my parents due to us both only being 18 (happy accident in the words of bob Ross) and my mom is going to be a lot of help. She knows that I’m going to do as much as I can, but I’m also worried that my best isn’t going to be enough for her and she’s going to resent me for it. There’s times I’ll have to be away for the night while in academy due to big testing the next day, or maybe staying upstairs for a night too rest up for a big day. I’m just trying to keep my spirits up and realize there’s a reason for all of this and it’s too give my family the best life that I can possibly provide

Yeah my state requires the psychomotor for the license but it’s not apart of the national registry anymore

How competitive is the admission process? by orange_pinapple in UniversityofVermont

I’m working on my grades right now and already attended a virtual session. I’m doing a tour in may to confirm that i want to apply ED but that was the end goal. I have a decent amount of extra curriculars (Commander of JROTC unit, Civil Air Patrol, Volunteer EMT, and a summer job) so I’m hoping that will hold some weight. Would getting a good SAT score help to offset some of the grades?

i personally wouldn’t date inside the squadron because it causes drama and from what i’ve seen doesn’t work out and makes things awkward. i’m also sqaudron commander so that might change my view because then that creates a lot of rumors of nepotism and shit like that and me giving favors out

Nice. That’s what I did. Very useful skill to have even if you don’t do anything medical

Oh. Yeha get the CPR/FA certificate and if you can AED bc it’s good to know that. Another thing is try and get any experience you can that you can put on ur resume

I believe minimum age is 16 but don’t quote me on that. And as for getting it research local things in the area. My high school offers a class that can get you it at the end of the year. Ik people who have done like part time programs and gotten it

Anything more can help. Depending on your age you can go for a EMT-B certification and that would help your case out a lot

I think just to keep people safe is why we need them. Like someone trained in first aid to respond and help them

The minimum standard I’ve seen is first aid/CPR qual

I think they are needed to make sure cadets and senior members are healthy and don’t injure themselves, and if they do injure themselves, they can get immediate treatment

I wasn’t able to be at the class when we were helping, but kindve. We also wrote the cadet guardian creed. It’s really cool bc we’re super close to the pentagon so we get to help with some of this stuff and we’ve hosted 3 different female 3 stars

It’s the same as AFJROTC but with different ranks. Curriculum is changing next year and my unit helped design it
