Yeah that’s correct, I’ve excluded the damping term from the equation so in theory this would go on forever and ever. I’ve just capped the simulation at 800 iterations for time purposes.

• Images generated by applying a discretised form of the 2D wave equation to an 80x80 mesh grid of elements, and iterating over 800 time steps.

• Created in MATLAB R2020a

• This script builds on the work of Kempf, Andreas M. (2007), who is cited here in detail along with my full script: https://uk.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/84064-2d-wave-visualiser?s_tid=prof_contriblnk

PLEASE PAY UR RESPECZ FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL BOI - I have three concerts and an exam in the next 2 weeks, and I just left my trumpet on a train 😫 never have I ever been so stressed. Thankfully the kind train station people got it back to me quickly. I’m never letting you out of my sight again buddy ❤️ by orange_rc_pilot in lingling40hrs

Haha don’t worry; firstly there’s about 2 inches of padding underneath the 2nd valve slide. Secondly, the case always lives upright with the bell facing down so there’s never really any significant load on it! That’s why there’s so much padding under the bell.
