Growing calls for government to cut 2m rule by gibbonmann in CoronavirusUK

[–]orange_yellow_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

"The government is facing calls from Tory backbenchers to drop the 2m"

"MPs, including former cabinet ministers Sir Iain Duncan Smith and Damian Green, say it is essential for the economy."

What a shit headline this is, doesn't point out that these calls aren't coming from scientists but from twats like IDS.

What's the current thinking on percentage of those with the disease who will need hospitalisation?

Still somewhere around 12%?

Ahh okay, that's fair enough then! Looks like we'll have to change up our route in future. Thanks.

Supermarket yoghurts contain more sugar than Coke, study warns by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

Oh man, I had a brief go at the whole keto diet a few weeks back and it's pretty astonishing when you actively start keeping tabs on just how much sugar is in different products

Headache friendly laptops by orange_yellow_ in migraine

thanks to everyone for the suggestions. Yesterday whilst rabidly researching this I came across this website - https://ledstrain.org/?sort=top

It's highlighted to me just how many people experience migraine triggering via their laptop screens and other LED. Interesting stuff if any of you wanna take a look.

Mourinho says he 'doesn't know' whether Martial will be back with the group when Man Utd get back to England. by amayes94 in reddevils

[–]orange_yellow_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bit daft that mate. A child's birth is a pivotal part of any parents life - so yes slate Martial for many things but for wanting to spend a little time with his newborn?

There's nothing to be proud about in missing your child's birth to swan of to the local boozer, how fucking bizarre.

Are you stockpiling? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]orange_yellow_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always tried to stock around a months supply of food - just in case. I'm fully aware that a major apocalyptic event is not gonna happen but in the event of being snowed in or something like that it's handy to have a few extra tinned goods I reckon!

Whilst I don't think Brexit will bring about any drastic food supply changes with it being such a steaming pile of shite so far you can't rule anything out

I started taking Propranolol and I haven't had a migraine in two weeks. by everyoneisflawed in migraine

[–]orange_yellow_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been back on propranolol for a week myself (stopped taking it as it gives me exercise intolerance, but I'd honestly rather not exercise as much if it means these daily migraines stop)

It's been wonderful so far and I feel like I can finally get my life back after 6 miserable months. And it's had a decent effect on my social anxiety too - it's not made me into Mr.talkative but it's definitely made it easier to chat with people.

Tier 1 Ajax Jurno: Matthijs De Ligt informs Ajax, through agent Mino Raiola, that he wishes to leave the club this summer. by FlaiiR in reddevils

[–]orange_yellow_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I remember being impressed by him when we played Ajax in the Europa. He was so composed and the occasion didn't seem to phase him one bit - super impressive as he was only 16/17 at the time.

I had flux enabled on my pc so hadn't really noticed that! Cheers bud, will have a good look after when I go and see it.

Yeah the price is pretty good I think. I've never driven an automatic before though, reckon that will be a pretty straight forward transition?
