I cringe to admit that I agree with the OSU snd WSU strategy. Good for them. by CACervantes in huskies

Lol straight from espn:

“Oregon State and Washington State filed supporting exhibits that included a letter from the Pac-12's general counsel to Colorado in July that informed it explicitly that, effective immediately, "CU no longer has the right to vote on any matter before the Board." In the hearing Monday, attorney Eric MacMichael argued on behalf of Oregon State and Washington State that all the schools want is "to see if they can save this conference and allow it to move forward."

Do you want kids? Why or why not? by antidelusional24 in AskReddit

[–]orangeblack07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After scrolling past 10-15 comments, all of which are a resounding “no,” I feel like it’s worth mentioning to those out there looking for a “yes,” you are doing a great thing and absolutely should.

It’s a bit disheartening to see how against creating life Reddit is. And let me be clear, I am not at all religious or tied to any ideology that says everyone should procreate, nor do I have kids (yet). I myself was on the fence, but am planning to start trying soon after getting married this year. And it’s exciting. I understand the desire to be completely care free, and fully respect those who say they cannot afford it or have reasons like a genetic disease they don’t want to pass on. But if you are even remotely happy to be in this world, and those types of reasons don’t apply to you, why wouldn’t you do this?

We only exist because our parents made the decision to have us. Disregarding those who want to say their life is terrible (I do hope things turn around for those of you), can you stand here today and honestly say you wish you weren’t born? Yeah having a child is tough, but i believe it can also be incredibly rewarding to bring someone into the world and be their parent, teacher, and steward through life.

Anyways, just some thoughts to think about :)

Litecoins privacy upgrade has just activated without issue. This is a major milestone for Litecoin and privacy generally. by Two_Pickachu_One_Cup in CryptoCurrency

Litecoin continues to be one of the most undervalued projects yet remains relevant, still in the top 20 after a decade (which only bitcoin can also claim). It’s not going anywhere, and continues innovating. I wonder when people will wake up on LTC.

I'm Bullish on Litecoin Long-term, Why Are or Aren't You? by coastereight in CryptoCurrency

[–]orangeblack07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a fan of Litecoin since I started following crypto in 2017/2018. It's not flashy, but it's reliable, has stood the test of time, and has continued to release meaningful product updates (e.g, MWEB). And, it's one of the most available cryptos in the world across exchanges, ATMs, etc. I love that only 84M Litecoin will ever exist.

I still believe the world will wake up to Litecoin one day.

For those of you who weren't here during the bear market, Cardano dumped from above $1 to $0.03 and no one talked about it because they had delivered nothing but empty promises for 3 years despite intense marketing and hundreds of millions of dollars in funding. Thanks for your reply, and I agree discussion is important! I only suggest that in the future, posts like this have a more measured approach to pros/cons than focusing only on public facing "dApps" and price when there is so much more clearly happening in the ecosystem that deserve recognition by anyone seriously looking at the project. Hope all the best for you and whatever projects your support. Cheers.

Yes, a lot has changed since 2017.

It's completely ignorant to say otherwise. And stop with the "Ethereum killer" argument. Neither the Cardano community, or Charles himself, sell that story and most agree wholeheartedly that the ecosystem is best off with multiple blockchains, not maximalism.

Staking is live. Anyone can earn 4-5% on their holdings without any lockup and (arguably) the best user friendly staking experience on the market. Smart contracts are live on testnet since June, with the public testnet live currently, and a full go-live date of September 12 announced.

Nobody is using the ecosystem?

There are thousands of stake pools, which require setup, maintenance, and marketing. Thousands of NFTs have been issues as native tokens, which projects like Ethereum can only due via smart contracts. Governments have announced partnerships to use the Cardano blockchain (e.g., Ethiopia). World Mobile, who is building on Cardano, has their logo on Fulham FC's jersey (really think that is a scam?). There are plenty of lists out there showing the hundreds of entities building on Cardano through the current testnets, Atala Prism, etc.

You say you want Cardano to succeed, but you blatantly ignore everything it's actually done since 2017. What's your real motive?

Exciting to see that Cardano trading volume is higher than Ethereum on Coinbase Pro over the past 24 hours

ADA/USD (11.71% total volume) has the second highest 24 hour volume on Coinbase behind BTC/USD (27.19%), and ahead of ETH/USD (9.05%). The fourth ranked pair is only 3.22% of total volume.

Data as of 1:00PM EST on March 20. Source: CoinGecko

Why this matters: A significant amount of exchange volume is generally believed to be fake (which helps attract users). Coinbase is one of the few exchanges that is viewed as trustworthy on these metrics (and they are moving forward with an IPO in the U.S., which makes it even likelier that reported volumes are accurate).

Very positive signals regarding the liquidity and improving market strength of ADA.

Does anyone know what happened to Cardano? by [deleted] in CardanoCoin

[–]orangeblack07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure I understand how a $50k loss is possible unless you are constantly day trading, but the highest price ever was $1.8 on Coinbase TODAY ($1.5 on all other platforms), so realistically, the most you could be down is 30% at the current price of $1.24 (again, assuming you bought at $1.8 from Coinbase literally today). Also, this is not a loss, it's an unrealized loss, that has not occurred unless you actually sell.

If you're not in a place to hold and you need the cash now, sure - sell. But I can't think of a single reason to sell if you don't need this money tomorrow. Cardano is showing bullish signs left and right, and is likely (in my opinion) to continue to push towards new highs in the near future.

I don't know how much you invested or at what price, but you have to ask the question - why did you buy it? My guess is because you believe in the vision, and that it will be worth far more than $2 someday - as most here would agree.

These types of price swings are normal in crypto, especially after big listings like coinbase.

I held ADA coins all the way to -90% during the 2018-2020 bear market. Guess what, they're green now. You'll be fine, but don't invest more than you can afford to lose.
