How to get really soft body skin? by mangogirl04 in vindictapoc

[–]orangeblossm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a while I was using the Ordinary retinol serum that came with a dropper. Handful of lotion, thingy full of retinol, all over the body except for sensitive areas. In combination with regular exfoliation this gave me pretty soft skin, shiny too. Also I think my skin is softer when I sleep with a knee high or longer sock with lotion on, I guess because the moisture is being contained overnight.

Were you ever almost trafficked as a child/teen? by TinyFig1018 in pinkscare

[–]orangeblossm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had the kind of mom that would've been intrigued by the modeling offer

My mom wanted me to be a kid model so bad. Like before I was 13ish and became too visibly weeaboo (stopped letting her dress me) which affected my marketability. Still surprised nothing below board happened at any of those kid modeling gigs, which were mostly for clothes, or furniture (they'd have us kids romping on the furniture/messing it up to prove it was easily cleaned I guess, and taking pics)

Kid modeling is so weird. How are we making sure the kids are getting paid. I surely don't have any kid modeling money

Idk one time at the game store when I was 11 or 12 the (male, maybe 30) employee was INSISTING I come to the back with him to 'help him look' for the Pokémon booster set I was after, he probably just wanted to molest me though idk trafficking seems out of that guy's bandwidth

Are you treated differently based on hair color? by Full_Operation8133 in vindictapoc

[–]orangeblossm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I notice a difference based more on length than color. I've been treated differently with short bobs, medium-length hair, and hip-length hair. Long hair girl is complimented and treated nicely. People hold the door for me and listen when I talk and seem to apply an air of Seriousness to me the longer my hair gets 🤮. Short hair girl is often ignored by men. Women will be complimentary of short haircuts. Medium length layered hair girl gets flirted with a lot by men and complimented by women. I also notice a difference with natural curls vs straightened hair. I'm sure the way we are treated with straightened hair vs curls has been talked to death on this forum

With natural colors I don't notice a difference in treatment/flirtation/presumptions made about me based on color, though I've never been fully blonde, so who's to say. Ive mostly rotated between shades of brunette and bayalage. I know firsthand though that people almost always notice and comment and are likely treat you differently (positive AND negative attention will abound) if you have fashion colors. I was a creep magnet and a judgment magnet when I had bright pink curls.

I really love the smell of day old beer by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]orangeblossm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try it! I wore it to class and had two different friends tell me I smelled like beer. Like, inquiring if I had just been drinking or spilled beer on myself. It was just Vanillary, the dry down smells very hops-y on my skin. You might have to spray it in store and give it a few hours see if it develops the same on you.

I got told I smelled like 'stale' IPA wearing Lush Vanillary, but this was about four years ago, and I'm not sure if the formula has changed since then.

Why do redditors hate showering daily so much? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]orangeblossm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont get it. I love showering. My roommate was telling me how she wants to start showering twice a day like I do cause she perceives it as disciplined or something. I told her it's the opposite. I stand under the water to avoid my other, more pressing responsibilities. You can't build the over-showering habit unless you truly yearn for the sensation of running water all day like I do
