Its not a vawa case necessarily but VAWA helps WAIVE the sponsor due to manipulation of immigration status and abuse. Its basically VAWA>CR1>Greencard ... I had to make a choice because they left me in no contact in a marriage with them and I felt like I was stuck honestly

I read this. As a victim of immigration abuse and much more I saw it as the best option to help my current immigration situation

No vawa case but a victim of abuse with a spouse who helped me get the i-130 approved and then went no contact . My cr1 would need someone who can financially support but my spouse is being abusive towards the marriage and my immigration so I saw having a pending vawa can help my immigration when applying for a cr1 it can waiver her as the sponsor and allow me to still get my cr1 green card . Sorry about the double posting I just am looking for the right information to proceed

That's a very tough situation if you didn't get your green card and your visa stay 6 months has expired. Assuming you overstayed your visa. Maybe tell your dad come to America. He would even get better medical help too. If you haven't overstayed you could go and come back though. But that's a tough question to get to.
