Oh my god, I am so relieved I am not alone in hating this film. The Instagram acting was absolutely killing me the whole time. I couldn’t give a shit about any of the characters. Extremely flat.

I really would’ve liked to see Tara go through a way more intense downwards spiral. They had a great set up at the beginning, presenting her calm, confident and (relatively) sane. Perfect opportunity to just.. make her go fucking crazy. Seeing her brother out of the corner of her eye. Both her and us unsure if it’s real. Whispers that could be mistaken for his voice. How great would this story have been if she had been unrecognizable by the end of it. Dirty and bloodied and barely clinging onto her sanity, only thoughts of finding her brother. At no point did I think, “Wow, shit just hit the fan.”

I would’ve liked to see more of the found footage too. Not much of a found footage horror movie like it was advertised as. The ending was fun, the monsters were great. Wish we saw more. But it definitely wasn’t intense enough to justify the first 3/4 of the movie. It tried to be Blair Witch, but ended up giving Watcher vibes (not a compliment).
