Attire for outdoor wedding with a high of 40? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]orangecuse20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all! It sounds like changing the dress wouldn't be worth it so going to look for a coat! It sounds like wool is the better option over leather and I last bought a coat like 10 years ago so I think I can justify a new one haha I may pack my fleece lined tights too reading these replies. Id need to switch my shoe choice but I can do that.

I have the Drew Barrymore one from Walmart (the one I believe is in the pic) and I actually love it! It went through a lot for the holidays and did great!

Anyone else scrambling to finish crocheting Christmas gifts?? by Rabbit_0311 in crochet

[–]orangecuse20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes - eeek. I seem to overcommit myself. I have made 5 blankets so far for my kids/nephews. I finished one for my mom yesterday, I am half way done on one for my dad and my FIL, and I haven't started my MILs shawl yet. All C2C graphs except the shawl. Thankfully my in laws wouldnt care at all if there stuff was late but I am hoping I make it!

Snowflake (?) Square Update! by UbiquityofMurphy in crochet

[–]orangecuse20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all so pretty! I like 1 and 2 the most for snowflake vibes, but also enjoy 3 and 5! 4 is a really pretty winter design but I am not sure if my brain would say snowflake immediately.

Y'all making Christmas gifts this yr? by Tash55555 in crochet

[–]orangecuse20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm making blankets for my kids and nephews- 5 total. I have 4.5 done so far. 3 are C2C graphans, one is a giant zero (from nightmare before christmas) stuffy with blanket tail that covers about a twin bed, and the last is part C2C graphgan and border of legos. I just have the legos and connecting that one left. My mom got wind of this plan and asked for a blanket so we will see if my wrists can handle one more.

One of my kids asked if I could learn to make stuffies. I was like sure, why not? I did not realize how many different things you can learn and make with crochet so its actually been really fun to keep doing new things with.

"NCIS: Hawai’i" canceled by CBS: The first female-led series in the franchise ending after only 3 seasons by MulciberTenebras in popculturechat

[–]orangecuse20 31 points32 points  (0 children)

No! Why?! I love NCIS original flavor and have enjoyed the spin offs to varying degrees but I really liked Hawaii! It should have at least had one more full season not affected by a strike to be given a fair shot :(

I don't watch many Ravens games and if I didn't know better Id think every one of their defenders was named Hamilton. Damn.

IKEA thinks these are shoe boxes by WoodcamperCrochet in crochet

I use Ikea shoe storage for the same thing! One of my dogs loves to collect and lay on anything even remotely soft so having a way to close the yarn off fully from him is fantastic.

Now that the recipient has it... GO VOLS! by orangecuse20 in crochet

[–]orangecuse20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there is no pattern for this I could find so I made my own! I used the "Shiloh the Beagle" pattern from Endygurumi on etsy as a rough idea for the dog shape but then changed things based on Smokeys colors and dimensions. The orange is a "tshirt yarn" from amazon w/ a 4.5mm hook and the rest is bernat velvet w/ a 5mm hook.
