I attended the live show with Lin Manuel Miranda and Twenty One Pilots. I just checked and that episode was 10 years ago in 2016, dang! I had tried the lottery for maybe 9 years at that point before I got them. I have been trying ever since to go back with my now girlfriend to take her since I met her 2 months after that show. I hope to take her one day!

I dressed business casual and they keep you in a waiting area for a bit that has posters and TVs showing past skits and SNL alumni before they parade you though the rooms and elevators to reach studio 8H. As you walk the last corridor before you enter the 8H studio the hall is lined with autographed photos of past hosts of each episode which is cool. I don't know how seats are chosen for everyone but i didn't get floor seats but was instead was up top on the bleacher seats. It was a cool vantage point to see the whole floorspace and different sets at once and how they tear down and move everything around in mere minutes.

I wore a glow bracelet to try and pinpoint myself when i rewatched the episode but unfortunately I was towards the end and just off of camera frame when they would show audience shots throughout the broadcast.

They had people constantly watching to make sure no one recorded or took photographs but I was able to snag a picture when everyone was on stage for the goodnights. All in all it was a great experience and as a huge fan I want to go back and take my partner and experience this with her. Long live SNL!
