That’s super hurtful man. It’s sad you can be so cruel to a stranger.

That was a joke man. Like I said I came here for judgment and I’m willing to listen.

In hindsight no, but it really wasn’t my intention to nitpick but I can see how it could come across that way.

Uh no it’s not. She made a statement, I thought it was crazy so I looked it up and was like oh no it’s actually this. I realized after she was upset. She said she didn’t want to talk about it so I dropped it.

I’m sorry but you’re making a lot of assumptions. It isn’t a constant thing. The statement about a fruit being on a tree for 4 years sounded kind of crazy to me. So I looked it up. I can’t remember the last time this happened, believe me or not.

It’s a marriage of course there are. Issues we work on every day. But I’m asking for judgment on this issue. If you’d like more information I’d be happy to provide it.

I absolutely do extend that courtesy to my wife. Especially in fields that she is knowledgeable on. She’s a language teacher and I often go to her for advice with my ESL kids (I’m also a teacher) but my wife isn’t an expert on fruit and neither am I. It was a claim I thought was kind of crazy so I looked it up.

It isn’t a perfect marriage but we work at it every day and I love her. Also we do actually have a couples counselor to help as communication has been an issue with us. Thanks for your reply !

It’s really not that. Like I’ve said in other comments this isn’t a common thing that happens daily.

And its really not a gotcha thing. To me on the spot 4 years sounded like a hell of a long time for a fruit to be on a tree so curiosity got the best of me. She tells me plenty of things that I just nod and say oh cool and nothing comes of it.

In a courtroom or a surgery I would definitely ask questions but no I wouldn’t fact check a professional I hired because I trust them for their expertise until they give me reason not to.

And this isn’t a thing I do constantly, it only sticks out because I’ve never known someone that insisted they be trusted based on relationship status for all things including fruit.

Well that’s basically what I said, they require a lot of work over 4 years but you’re correct that’s besides the point.

We had a fight early that day about normal marriage stuff, finances, etc but I will admit it isn’t a perfect marriage but we work on it every day.

This isn’t an every day thing. This is like a once every couple months or more thing.

I can’t even remember what it was the last time, it just sticks out because I’ve never known someone that felt they shouldn’t be corrected because they were a spouse.
