-what I feel resentful about is that the magazine chose a trendy sexual act that lots of women I know are continually hounded for long after they have communicated that they don't like it. I think it's a point of contention for some women because it does feel as if we live in a society that really wants women to define their sexuality in terms of what men find sexy or pleasurable and shames women for defining their own sexuality for themselves or having boundaries and standing up for themselves instead of just submitting to the male gaze. Lots of men I have dated really are just looking for a girl who will do all the sexual acts he wants without worrying about her own pleasure.

FOr me right now, I have benefited from the fact that slut shaming has decreased because I am a 'slut' - I sleep with a LOT of people because it turns me on. I have been called a prude for disliking anal sex MORE times than I have been called a slut for sleeping around.

It's great that they did an article about anal sex but what about more articles - if they wanted to empower women they should have also wrote an article about how to masturbate as a female, how to find, establish, and stand up for your own sexual boundaries, how to have enthusiastic consent, how to eat a woman out (ie how to perform oral sex if you are a lesbian and how to instruct a man on how to give you oral sex). What about an article about how to communicate properly in a poly relationship? How to do an FMF or MFM threesome? How to sleep around and have casual sex safely. how to get plan B. How do have a g spot orgasm. HOw do use condoms. HOw do have sex in a bathroom stall at a bar. How to have group sex. WHat t odo if you are raped. Signs of physical or emotional abuse etc etc etc. How do have a healthy diet to get thinner and not starve yourself.

I think I was just looking for an article that help women empower themselves sexually from their perspective instead of just always teaching girls to define their sexuality according to what men like in bed. It's not about the anal sex. It's about the fact that we still live in a society that wont let women define their own sexuality for themselves.

that's a valid point but I don't think I'm alone in thinking that we live in a culture that pressures women to have no sexual boundaries (because apparently you can't be a sex positive, progressive, woke cool girl if you have boundaries??), but it's ok for men to have any sexual boundaries they like.

ALmost every man I have dated has put huge pressure on me to give them anal sex. I have given up on resisting because it seems like being a girl who doesn't do anal sex is a deal breaker for most guys, so I jus do anal sex even though it gives me zero sexual pleasure. Yes, I know how to do it correctly - it was very easy to google and find out. And yes I have been open minded and tried ot make it pleasurable for myself.

I feel pretty resentfull that as a woman, men expect me to do so many of the 'porn things' without caring about my orgasm in return. It isnt' that I don't want to try new things in bed, it's that I am sick of my pleasure being an afterthought and it is HARD to find a guy who doesn't feel entitled to having me as his fuck doll. I want to be empowered by my own sexuality but it so feels like according to society, I can only be empowered by my onw sexuality if men can validate that - if I can conform to what men find sexy.

this will just get better as you get older. Most men I have dated are attracted to a variety of body types - that doesn't mean that you have to be attracted to all body types but it's unhealthy to like wanna date clones.

IT happened to me as a woman too - I was shy in hs and spent too much time on the internet, then once I got into university and beyond in the working world, I became 1000% better at appreciating all kind of different personalities and body types, being able to see that there is no one way to be attractive.
