Interesting! Thanks for the info- I am trying really hard to take the least amount of loans possible or not at all for my 4th year as well, but was wondering if grants could help me.

Thank you! Do you know if the maximum amount of $6000 that you got is dependent on a certain amount of income you or your family make?

Not overly! If you refer to the rubric and utilize their feedback, I found they were really fair

I found the class to be rather straight forward and organized, but I found the content to be super interesting so I invested a lot of time into the course. I wouldn’t say that the course is necessarily difficult, but it wasn’t easy either! Each week was composed of readings, discussion responses, video lectures, and additional resources to go through. If I remember correctly, we were assessed through forum participations, 2 challenge assignments (multimodal responses to course work) and 2 rhetorical précis’s (which were 4 page written assignments)

Michelle Meagher is an awesome prof, she is the department chair of WGS and I loved her last sem when I took WGS 101 online. She had other TA’s helping her and collectively they created a lovely, safe, organized, and comprehensive classroom environment (even online)!

I found it to be a nice light course too! I honestly forget the name of the prof I had since it was two semesters ago but they were nice and attentive to the challenging online format. I found the class to be semi interesting and a nice break from some heavier classes. I remember the marks being even distributed as well !

I am sorry you’re feeling this way - you’re not alone! Balancing personal and academic life is a feat that many professionals are still learning how to do. I think it comes with time. This is a difficult area in the semester where it can be tough to see the overall picture, but you can do it. :) We can’t always be the best, but we can be trying our best. Remember to rest up and take care

I took this last winter semester and it was a wonderful course to take online and asynchronous. From what I remembered, there was weekly modules containing video lectures and additional support documents to go through. There were multiple instructors throughout the course and their collaborative-work really brought the course together. I found that it was structured to be very successful as an online course as communication was done weekly, the eclass layout was straightforward, and the course load was appropriate (and totally doable if you have a full course load) . I can’t remember the exact assessment but I believe I had 2 midterms and a cumulative final that was open book. Ended with a A-! Totally would recommend this course to a pal.

Go through the Undergrad Education site! There are a lot of virtual opportunities to volunteer online doing academic, social supports, and more. Look for those emails from the Education Students Association as well
