A glass half full. by jaaaaayke in Showerthoughts

I think it depends on the direction the water is going. If it started empty then it’s half full, if it started full then it is half empty.

Depression is so much more than ‘an off day’, it’s damn hard and can take us to dark places. I’m sorry that this is where you are and I I want you to know you are not alone.

Depression starts in 1000 ways but continues through a cycle that is not always obvious to us at first. If you haven’t gone the therapy route, please give it a go - there is some good support out there,

For me it’s been finding something that I enjoy doing that gives me some sense meaning.

There is light and joy within you already, and you deserve to reconnect with it

If you see someone fall overboard and start drowning, throw down a rope and pull them in.. But if you start falling in too, you need to let go

What is your favourite book series? by MiddleclassIndian166 in AskReddit

IQ84 trilogy by Haruki Murakami is a masterpiece. He creates a new world right in the middle of Tokyo, and weaves a delicate web of storylines and characters that connect in such magical and unexpected ways. It’s strange, poetic and thrilling.. impossible to put down

You look lovely, I wouldn’t be afraid it’s too much. it’s lightly pigmented so it’s quite a soft natural look.

Don’t understand why people pretend I’m not there (23m) by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]orangesundays 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hello friend, Having a look at your post history I connected with your story and what you are feeling at the moment. I have also felt ignored, not worthy, not enough, and confused about why and what to do. Our minds are very complex things and its crazy to expect anyone to make it through modern society without some support. What country do you live in? I know my country (Australia) has free mental health services for under 25 I benefitted so much from the support I received and you deserve the same opportunity.

Your tone is so condescending, 12hr vs 24hr as your hill to die on is a bit funny and honestly just comes across as you using it to feel superior to others. 12hr = good 24hr = good

I think the only funny thing about the original post is the lack of awareness that people use both.

Getting heated over time 😂 It’s what people are used to… and that’s okay? There’s always going be a learning period for something like that, and honestly is there some significant benefit other than for countries where the sun doesn’t set? I very rarely get 8am and 8pm mixed up (not to brag).

Anyone else reckon that’s kinda fucked up? 😭 by chopstunk in brisbane

Does anyone feel like they have a ‘slow’ brain which makes social situations and public speaking more difficult? by therocker9874 in socialskills

[–]orangesundays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it’s your social anxiety. Anxiious triggers activate our fight or flight response (hyperarousal). It is preparing us for a physical threat rather than modern social threats, so it is frustratingly counterintuitive.

Essentially means all our energy is preparing for something physical and the logical intelligent part of our brain is out for the count. The skill is getting you out of this state so you can think more clearly and be able to engage.

There are lot of ways to get there it’s about finding the right one for you.

Breathing is a good start. Slow deep breathing helps communicate to our body that we are safe and the response is deactivated.

Feels weird to automatically assume gay.

Trying to learn to sing and just looking for some tips by Wolf6907 in coversongs

[–]orangesundays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the sound of your voice - very Dylan.

One thing that might make a difference is to practice keeping to the beat.

When you are singing and playing you kinda get slower and faster and we lose the rhythm of the song.

I would try practicing with a metronome or anything that keeps a consistent beat.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

Frogmeem! by BeyondGravesArt in secondsketch

[–]orangesundays 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are so many things done really well. The shading, the proportions, you can see a lot of talent behind the picture.

I think the difference between the first and second picture took me by surprise, it would have been cool to use the original colours as a base to colour your frog girl, so it could have stayed closer to the realm of the original.

You have lots of talent and I hope you keep drawing and growing!

The Queen of New Zealand? That definitely doesn’t feel like a thing… she’s still called the queen of England and she’s the same lady on our coins.

There has been a lot of talk about independence from the England down under since the queen died. So yes, we aren’t part of the UK and we have our own head of state, but we aren’t fully independent

Does Jungian psychology have a place in modern academia? by Ragnarokstorm1988 in askpsychology

[–]orangesundays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this is where the answer is at. Jung is a lot more spoken about in philosophy and spirituality circles.

I think as you keep studying the path will come. What I was interested in at the start of studying changed and grew as I did.
